As i understand and which I do since 2012 with Plex is that my Plex Server is installed on my laptop together with my movie libraries.  the pre-installed Plex in my LG TV is the Plex player.  it doesn't save anything on the TV.  All meta data is saved on the Plex Server (in my laptop).

my best guess is it should be the same for the Plex pre-installed on NVidia Sheild.

if it doesn't work the same way, I would settle with KODI/SPMC on NVidia and stick a HDD on its USB port.. =))

yes, the 13,700Php is the 4K HDR version...

I checked it further (on the images) and that's one indication on the box if 2015 or 2017 version =))

they replied to my email and this will be released starting 30-January-2017.

re: NSTV 2017, ilang tulog nlang for its PH debut..

noob questions, please...
- does its wireless controller has a built-in rechargeable battery, like the PS DualShock4?
  - if yes, how does it charge? I think the box does not include any cable accessories.
- while the remote control has AAA batteries, am I correct?

TIA!

I am sorry. I was thinking for the Update 5.0 for our shield and not the actual selling of Nvidia shield TV in the Philippines.

thanks, sir DPT. I realized the remote is very slim, so it should be true for CRC battery =))

I think the console's charger will act as the same charger for the controller -- both via micro usb.  meaning:
-- use that charger to charge the controller while your not playing
-- dismiss charging your controller and connect the same charger to the console to power it up when you're going to play

I liked the idea. it will save us from too many cables to keep on-hand  =))

The power adapter of the console is only for the console. It is 18 volts or 17 volts i think.

You can use one of the usb 3.0 port of the shield to charge the controller.

Okay so far this is what people have been saying with the 2017 shield.

No power button but smaller.   The shield is meant to be an always on device since it can be used as a smart home hub.  If you shut it down and need to start it via software, you have to have an on and off switch where you plugged your shield power adapter to turn it on.  An easy fix, as most power extension cord  have on and off switch on their individual out power sockets.

Unplugged the network and disable location services  after you navigate to settings before attaching the network cable  at first start of it  . This avoids the location services having a heart attack  and causes reboots at next boot up when the shield is first booted when it tries to search for your location outside of US.

for now, we won't be using it for online streaming.  only movie watching offline (thru USB-connected HDD) and android games playing.  we might also use Plex via Wi-Fi to test/.

I'm fine with the no off-switch, I have a power source with individual switches too. and I always turn off "Location" mode anyway.

thanks, sir DPT for your continued help sharing your knowledge with NSTV =))

thanks again, sir!

I'll check which USB cables we use on our smartphones is compatible.  then I'll just buy a new one and dedicate it for charging the controller. hoping it's compatible with the one I use for DualShock4  =))

as far as I can tell it  is just a regular micro usb. I charge my pocket wifi, smartphone,  other remotes on that cable.

I got the notification last night.

But I wont be updating in a week or so.

But in general, the reception of the update is positive.

By the way, what VPN do you use?

no good news I received from Benstore via email this morning...

they said they cancelled my order due to 10% initial payment wasn't sent...  DUH!  it's supposedly COD and I still got no invoice nor any email instructions about this advance 10%... it even took them 6days to tell me this.

anywho, perhaps their online selling procedures are still immature.. their website even says incoming stocks on 27th-Jan, but it's already afternoon and no update yet if already "in-stock" LOLz!

maybe this may not be for me at this time.  I'd just check elsewhere to get this =))
