Forget 4k tv's, jump straight to 8k super hi vision led tv's. Sharp and LG already have their prototypes. In the next year other manufacturers will follow. And might be the standard when the 2020 tokyo olympics is broadcast.

With screens now reaching up to 120" you really need 8k resolutions. No more need for projectors

Langya di pa ko nagmigrate sa 4K meron na agad 8K. Baka naman saglit lang din yung 8K or is it future-proof na?

Yun nga ang maganda eh, we can skip 4k altogether. Jump straight to 8k led tvs.

Theres no such thing as futureproof. Society will always evolve and so will technology. But you can always use it in the future but with less features.

The biggest movie exhibitor in the Philippines is SM. Almost all of their digital projectors are Sony 2K digital projectors.

AFAIK, SM's IMAX uses dual 2K Christie projectors; and the latest SM cinemas (BF Paranaque) use a Christie 4K digital projector.

If almost all digital projectors in real cinemas here use 2k, and moviegoers are not complaining, why the need for 8K for such a small screen in the home?

nung bata ako happy na ko sa sony trinitron namin and didnt complain but when the new flat crt arrived
mas gusto ko yun. Then flat panels arrived mas gusto ko pa yun. So pag dumating na 8K technology and it becomes affordable like flat screens today bibili din ako nun.

I cant wait for cinema screens to be as clear as your 4k TV at home.

I like to be an early adapter in case of IT technology - new OS, new processor, etc. ... but when it comes to AV appliances I find it more practical to buy products when it becomes mainstream - e.g yung first released na curve OLED ng LG was less than 100k in price dito sa atin in less than a year ... you usually get more features and improved quality for less pag mainstream na ... you just lose the bragging rights

True. It upscales video internally then groups subpixels together to have an "8K effect."

the 2020 olympics will be broadcast in 8k resolution. Thats only 2.5yrs from now. By next year others will follow with their own 8k tvs.
