Hi,

Any lead where I can source this kind of capacitor or kahit different brand basta same value before heading to Raon.

Btw, its from my Mordaunt short MS20. TIA

film cap, hindi naman sirain yan ah...meron akong wima caps 4.7ufd/250 volts polypropylene type...

Hi tony, ano pros and cons using the caps you mention? Diba mag bago yung tunog?

Walang kaso kahit mas mataas sa 63v. Be sure to get at least polypropylene type, kung ayaw mo yung Wima ni Master Tony meron Audiophiler brand sa Eleshop. Perceivable or not, medyo maiiba tunog nyan after installing fresh caps kasi yung luma mo sigurado hindi na 4.7 ang actual value.

Tip: If you find the lower treble a bit harsh or overpowers the other frequencies, you may try a lower cap value like 3.3 or 2.2 uF. Bonus pa your crossover point will be farther from the tweeter's resonance frequency, a very good thing.

Addendum: Di ko nakita pic when I first opened this thread. Tama si Master Tony, bukod sa hindi naman sirain, it doesn't drift values much unlike the cheapo "lata" caps. Why would you want to replace?

Just found out while listening a week ago na di tama yung tunog ng isang channel. Check the inards only to fint out na repaired na pala yung said capacitor. Ask a friend to check the board. Nung tinangal namin yung caps putol n yung wire. In short mahirap na irepair. Thanks for your inputs and will consider yours and sir Tony's option.

you better get the WIMA from Tony. WIMA has its origin in Germany while the audiophiler capacitors from Eleshop are from China, baka mas mahal pa sa WIMA ni Tony yan.

And better replace in pairs..

Mas mura ata sa Alexan iyung 1/4W 1% metal film resistor. Tig piso lang sa pagkaka alala ko.

yup nagulat nga ako sa presyo,actually madami ako stash ng 1% wala lang nung ibang values na kailangan ko kaya ako nagtanong.

any way back to capacitor, yes the audiophiler and spirit brand is from china

Bihira na ang Wima caps na mismo sa Germany gawa. Dito sa may Huaqiang Bei, Shenzhen iisa lang shop nag titinda ng Wima galing Germany (NOS stock).

Nakasubok na rin ako ng hindi NOS at hindi naman nagkakalayo. Pahirapan nga lang bumili at hindi lagi meron stock.

Sir, kung bibili kayo ng Nichicon capacitor sa Eleshop tignan niyo ng mabuti iyung pagkasulat ng "Nichicon". Sa pagkakaalala ko kasi hindi lahat ng Nichicon capacitor nila ay orig na Nichicon. Minsan mas mainam pa nga bumibili sa nagkakariton malapit sa Eleshop. Doon kasi mga NOS kadalasan binebenta.

Finally my speaker is up and running again, another technician friend able to fix the caps. Kinikil yung both sides tapos kinabitan ulit ng wire. Salamat ng marami sa mga na reply at nag offer ng solution dito.
