Headphone amp section is ok. I think mas malakas yung DAC-01, ang hindi ko alam is kung pareho ba to ng DAC-01 na solid state ang gamit instead of the tube pre-amp. But it sounds sweet and clean. Generally, compared to the DX90 built in head-amp, it has wider soundstage but focus is more controlled, better lows, I think midbass is toned down a bit, more or less same midrange, but evidently extended highs.
Volume control is for head-amp only, rca analog out (both solid state and tube) are fixed.
It has too much power for the AT MSR7
It can make my Beyerdynamic DT880pro 250ohms sing
But sadly, it is not enough for the AKG Q701, that headphone really likes my APPJ with headphone adapter.
Ok siya ngayon para sa PC ko, di ko talaga gusto yung synergy ng SVS bookshelf and B&O ICEPower amp, pero ngayon ang ganda na ng combination with the DAC, so mission accomplished. Pero baka patingin ko next time, feeling ko may boost na nangyayari along the signal path, yung ibang album ok naman, pero may mga ilang album na never ko narinigan ng distortion, pero sa DAC na to, ang lakas ng distortion, both headphone and rca outs.
