For the editing feature, i guess a computer based music server would be your best bet.  I have not seen or tried a commercially built streamer that has editing feature on the fly.

my personal thoughts on the ff:

1) olive one- great sq; good pricing; proprietary remote software available via android or ios; a bit slow in terms of firmware upgrades; file system is a bit confusing...better if you just edit the music data via your pc and then transfer via wired network; file transfer via wireless is flaky; no dsd; eventually sold it and got the x40
2) cocktail audio x40- great sq; pricey; option to transfer via usb flash drive is very convenient; no usb out for external dac so in case you have dsd files, you can only play it straight through the amp or convert it to a lower bitrate so that the dac can output music via coax
3) aurender- auditioned it before; great sq; pricey and you have to check if your dac is compatible for dsd (didn't pull the trigger since it was reportedly not compatible with my hegel dac)

wish someone would bring in the auralic aries/aries mini; saw several reviews and they were positive

hope this helps

If you are looking for a streamer only. You need to have a separate music server so you can stream your music from the server. There are streamers that functions as server also. All of this will depend on your wallet and how it will synergize with the rest of your system.

I think having no USB out isn't a problem since the X40 already has a very good DAC built-in. (the ESS Sabre 9018)

One of the most highly recommend ones is the LG G7 Thinq, but seeing their used prices online, presyong bago na sya ng affordable DAPs
