Topic: Dali Ikon 5 mk2 or Focal Chorus 714

Mga bros and sis,

I am in a location where these speakers are priced favorably (to my pocket) thus I am in that sweet dilemma of choosing between two great things.


I know that the answer lies in audtitioning but would like to get the preferences of the gurus and non-gurus alike, who may have chanced upon these singers to expand my informed decision. Don't worry as I will not be blaming anybody if the one I choose turns out not as expected although I find that possibility highly unlikely.

Have the chance to own a 714 & also the DALI Ikon2 only but I still prefer the DALI's sound signature. Both are a bit on the bright side but the Ikon2 did work well w/ a matching tube amp.

DALI for me

Focal for me. I had the chance to audition the Dali Ikon 2 and the Focal Chorus 806V and chose the Focal - more defined highs because of the better tweeter (to my perception). I felt like something was missing in the Dali.
