Topic: Cayin tube vs Primaluna tube

Hi mga guru's,

Good day po sa inyong lahat. Im starting to built my 2 channel for music and most probably to tube amp. Any body who have had experienced sa primaluna tube amp, please care to share your sonic sound experiences. I know cayin is quiet popular here as many user and had own thread. By the way im looking for integrated amplifier. Are cayin amp have phono input?

yes, in a kt88 amp i repaired, there is a phono head using opamps....
the prima luna is an old amp by now, it is alredy vintage...
i have seen pictures though, looks nice....

if your speakers are 90db then you can use either one...
as ussual my advice is to audition both...

Thank you sir tony. Im eyeing triton 5 speaker for this. Another contender is line magnetic lm518IA. Cayin is push pull amp while line magnetic above is single ended. I think primaluna prologue premium is class B amp but still not sure and good thing about their amp has quiet number of protection and auto bias while cayin has to be manually adjust. To your experience which one do you prefer,  push pull or single ended amp?

kung saken lang boss, i prefer the line magnetic 518 1a. iba tunog ng 845s kumpara sa mga kt88, 120, 6550. sa push pull you have a choice, A, AB, B. opinion lang chief, yung mga disadvantages ng SET eh kalimitan sa harmonics saka sa kuryente, preference na ng listener kung ano mas maganda ang tunog sa kanya. ok din yung triton 5 po, pero i still prefer na walang nakaincoporate na sub yung speaker ko. just my 2 cents po.
but if budget permits ill go SET na naka 300b. its very different from a pentode na wired in triode. tapos either full range na horn speaker or electrostatic or magnetic planar. this might sound a little bit on the bright side but the punch and dynamics is to die for......

class A single ended amps are choosy with speakers, unless you have an 845...
after sales service is one big consideration when buying any electronics appliance...

Can you elaborate on the sound characteristics of the Line Magnetic LM 518IA (SET with 845) and Cayin CS-100A (PP)?

Would the 518IA drive sufficiently a Dynaudio Excite X12 with B&W PV1D sub?

If you have time please bring your speaker at our shop in Libis QC. We have LM518 and Cayin CS-100A on stock. You can audition both and can compare the tube amplifiers. We have our own listening biases so I cannot tell which one is best for you.
