Been using this device and kodi app to watch movies. Question lang, what setting do I need to make sure that I'm getting proper 4 k resolution without any lags. I few 4k media and as far as I know it's playing 4k. Kayang lang Baka I forgot some adjustments on the settings to get better experience

2. 2008 Xtreamer -- HDMI -- TV
-- S/PDIF -- AVR

sa #1, TV accepts audio signal thru HDMI then also sends that signal out to S/PDIF
sa #2, si Xtreamer ko pwede sabay HDMI (audio/video) and S/PDIF (audio) out

kaya din dapat ni Samsung yung #1. =))

note lang: S/PDIF can only transmit upto 6ch audio data

Some questions on pairing my Samsung 55" KU6000 and my Minix U1:

I have read somewhere that Minix u1 has an HDMI CEC feature, thus allowing me to use only one remote control. How is this done?

Just enable HDMI CEC in the settings of the Minix U1 and then plug it into an HDMI CEC enabled HDMI port on the TV. You'll know it's working if the U1 turns on automatically when you select the connected hdmi port on your tv and it turns off when you turn off the tv.

Sir, which remote could I use? The TV remote or the Minix Remote? or Either? I love the Minix Remote more than the TV's since my Minix is an airmouse, so is it possible to use the minix remote?

TV Remote. You can control only the basic functions of the U1 via the Play, Pause, Stop, Forward and Reverse button on your TV Remote.

when I bought the U1 last year I immediately installed the latest version (version 16 BETA) that was available in the minix support forum.

So since then I've not been happy with the performance.
1) the app did not support a lot of my downloaded content. A lot of times it would freeze and require a reboot
2) the ATMOS passthrough functionality was very very spotty. There are times when no sound would come out and the video stutters. Soon after that you will lose the ability to use the remote. Again, this would require a reboot of the system

overall a very frustrating purchase

Then last week I was looking for an updated version of the app and noticed my mistake (yup, only last week!).

I never installed the STABLE version of XBMC for Minix (version 15).

So I unistalled the 16 BETA version and downloaded version 15. Lo and behold it was a world of difference!

Everything is more stable now. No more freezing, no more reboots, no more missing audio, no more unplayable files.

PERFECT!!

anyway, just sharing my experience so that other people who were overly excited as I was won't make the same mistake I did.

medyo not for U1 but MINIX too. i had minix x7 and had the same issue - unstable xbmc/kodi then read the forum and notice there is a particular build of xbmc/kodi for minix.

boom. perfect - fast and stable.

Mga bossing, I notice that around 30 to 50% of the time I power on the minix u1, it freezes and stuck until prior to user interface. I have to push to power botton for about 10 sec then reboot. Then it would be ok. Does anyone here also have that problem?

Last night, I was watching movies in my Minix U1 using my portable hard drive. Bigla nalang tumitigil ang palabas then balik sa home screen. I tried various players (MX Player, Kodi, etc.) with the same results. This never happened before.

Any tips on the cause and how to fix this? I tried clearing the cache. Same problem. Thanks.

have you updated to the latest firmware?
i used to get this too when I firsts got my unit. When I updated to a newer firmware nawala

have you switched usb ports? drives?

latest firmware na yung U1 ko. Due to frustration, I reset the U1 and hopefully ma wala na yung problema. I also did the reset since Kodi has a new and stable app 17.3, so pinagsabay ko na lang...

Use the xbmc/kodi build specifically for minix. Far stable.

Yes sir. I tried all the usb ports. Same pa rin. Ngayon lang nangyari ito. Before, it can flawlessly play even my 2tb drive.

I read somewhere that updating to Kodi 17.3 is necessary since most streaming sites are now moving to HTTPS....In fact, I also notice that with Kodi 17, there are streaming issues....so maybe the upgrade would or should solve this...fingers crossed....

you have an unsupported version of kodi.

stick with this MINIX XBMC V15.3 final

that's the custom kodi app for minix.

works flawlessly for me.

when i updated to any other kodi version it gets messed up. See my post above as well.

I hope someone can help me. For some reason I'm unable to choose 4k resolution for you tube 4k videos (options are only upto 1080p). I'm able to if I use the built in media player in my 4k TV. Resolution in the minix has been changed to 4k@ 60 hz.

If I am not mistaken Cellphone androids are only fixed at 720p for youtube. and 480p for netflix. You need the real Google Android TV OS to run youtube 4k.

Minix u1 uses cellphone/tablet android.

didn't encounter any issues. Just make sure you have the latest versions of everything (firmware and kodi for minix)

help peeps, bigla na lang ayaw bumukas settings, had to reset and reboot the system, ngayon naman nawala Netflix kaya had to sideload it but bumalik uli yun ayaw bumukas settings, and checked online apparently it's happening to several user in other countries, meron ba kayo alam na fix? what's the highest build ng Netflix pwede ko side load sa Neo U1? hirap naman yun reset ka ng reset
