H E L P!

Can someone recommend a good repair shop for AVR other than Audioworld?

Wife informed that our AX1 suddenly wouldn't power on - hanggang TIK TIK sound lang but ayaw tumuloy.  She called Audioworld today and was informed that 2-3 months daw ang repair period - WHAT?  they haven't even diagnosed the unit and my wife told me that she used to be able to fix that by simply supporting the power cable.  Panic button ang wife because walang mapatugtugan ng Xmas Carols.

We used to go to that electronic repair shop in Virra Mall (2nd or 3rd floor) but I wonder if it's still there.  Anyways, any information would help. Perhaps a member actually does repair.   Regards!

Dear Sir, with regards to your HELP!!!!!!!! 2 to 3 months is the WAITING period for diagnosed units with no AVAILABLE parts .
We need to order the ORIGINAL parts for each diagnosed unit.
We give priority to those customers that reside in provinces or not within the metro.
Checking units for trouble might take 2 to 3 days , and not 2 to 3 months.
Maybe it's just that talking or conversing over the phone might cause some misunderstanding over details.
Hope that you still consider Audioworld for your repair service center.

Sorry if i had to resurrect this thread. Aside from Audioworld is there any other shops that can work on a receiver that was accidentally plugged sa 220. Preferably Makati or neighboring areas. I got this unit in the US so there's no warranty na. And nasa shop pa ang kotse for the next week at least. I think it will cost a lot to take a cab only to find out its just a busted fuse. (ceramic fuse so aside from visually inspecting it i dont have any knowledge how to check)

Hi Sirs,

I seek your kind advice regarding Yamaha AVR repair. I have an RXV-750. It just automatically shuts-off while in use.

I've back read this thread and found that there are many options but it's been suggested years ago already. I'd just like to ask if someone had a more recent experience regarding this.

Is there a service center or repair shop in or near Makati (besides Yupangco)? My last resort is audio world because of the location. Primary options would be somewhere nearer to Makati and with positive feedback.

Thanks in advance, Sirs.

I have a Yamaha RXV-1200. It has a damaged board. I guess mice might have peed on it.

Avesco (Yamaha service center) doesn't have parts for it na daw. :(

Does anybody have an idea who can fix this?

Reviving an old thread.

Please recommend a reliable service center besides Audioworld. My Yamaha receiver (locally purchased, out of warranty already) conked out last night. It didn't overheat, no burnt odor, no current spikes; it just turned off by itself without warning. Looks like the protection circuitry kicked in since the standby indicator blinks continuously whenever I try to turn the power on.

Thanks.

Did you get that locally?  or 110v yan?

I have an Onkyo (US model) that's been junked bec of the blinking red light— thermal protection.  Shop is charging too much to change a lot of parts.   I don't understand why it seems to be happening not only w/ Onkyo but with Yamaha din pala.

Put a fan over your Onkyo.  Prevents thermal shutdown

is that really the norm now?  I've given up on the receiver.  I brought it over to the official service centre of Onkyo.  Apparently the parts are real parts that comes from Japan pa.  Does anyone here know of a better place to get these fixed?

Norm now due to climate change.. Put heatsink on the ic. Put fan on top. You can use laptop fan and cellphone charger.
