Nakabili ako nitong elac b6 sa spectra last october. I wanted to compare it side by side with wharfs 225. Kaso that time 220 lng available nila. Kinumpara ko parin, nanipisan ako sa sound ng 220. Ung b6 malawak soundstage at bass response. Sa mid/ high di namn nagkakalayo ung details. Played some vocal music and eagles song that time. I bought the elac. Di ka nga magsisisi dito. Sa bahay i tried diff genre of music from classics to heavy metal using ss amp. This speaker can handle all of them. Using tube amp playing lani misalucha and whitney houston, wow very relaxing lalo na pag may beer. Hehe.

So today I was lent a pair of Elac Debut B6 for home audition. It's being powered by a Brik integrated amplifier that I recently purchased. Make no mistake this little amp can make the B6 play loud! It sounds like a floorstander! The image is huge and the vocals are just so impressive! I also use the Elac for watching cable TV and it gives the impression that a subwoofer is running in the background! I'm really impressed by this speaker!   ;D

This week it's the Elac Unifi Slim BS U5 that I took home to demo. The sound is a lot more detailed than the Debut B6.  Due to it being 85 db sensitivity and 4 ohms I was intially using my Rotel RA 04 integrated amp to drive it. It sounded loud and good! Then I switched over to my small Brik integrated amp. I was worried if this amp would have a hard time driving it. Lo and behold, it was also capable of playing the Elac Unifi with authority. When I looked up the owner's manual of the Brik it actually recommends using 4 ohm speakers!

Quote
"Highly recommend connecting with 4 ohms and 100 watts output"

Yes the Brik is really surprising and very well worth the low price! I also have a B&W 685 S2 for home demo. It also sounds fantastic but the upper treble is muted compared to the Elac Unifi. I feel that the 685 S2 and the Debut B6 have a similar tone, they both sound like large speakers, except that they are at different price points. The vinyl wrap of the B6 is kind of a letdown though, it peels and gets damaged easily. The Unifi Slim series does not use a vinyl wrap it's painted and the finish looks much sturdier than the Debut series.

You should give the Brik amp a listen next time you visit there!  :D

hi guys. researching on new speakers as my wharfedale 8 is already showing its age.  how's the elac b6 compared to klipsch rp150m?  im worring that the klipsch may be fatiguing. usage will be 50% ht, 25% xbox, 25% music.

receiver is x1300 (80w), living room, 5mx6m.  im narrowing down to these 2 because they have atmos-enabled lines and it will be great to have a uniform brand.

In my experience "bright" speakers are not fatiguing for Home Theater use because the sound levels are constantly varying. For two channel music listening now that is another story, bright speakers will certainly fatigue you. I use an all Klipsch set-up for HT and I love it, it never hurts my ears. I use different speakers for audio paired with an integrated amp (AV receivers are pathetic in two channel mode).

Hello, what speaker stand do you recommend for an elac b6? Thank you. I saw a bowers and wilkins stand in spectra. I am currently contemplating if i should get this or get a custom diy stand being sold in the market place for more than half the price.

Thanks!

Was shopping earlier for an entry level set for my son's play room(aka my living room). This will be used for watching Peppa Pig, a few movies, and playing some music(like Baby Shark). Dropped by my favorite audio store, Watts Hifi in Makati Cinema Square, and was offered the B&W 685 s2 and the ELAC Debut B6 to be paired with an entry level Onkyo tx-sr373. Right off the bat, the B6 seemed easier to drive, although both speakers are rated the same at 87db sensitivity. Playing music in low volume, the 685 distorts using the 373 while the B6 sounded fine. In a louder volume, the sound character of each speaker gets more evident. The 685 shines in the midrange where it sounded super smooth and intelligible. The B6 does well in the low end, making it sound like a large floorstander with ample bass. Seeing that the B6 fills my need better(and my wallet), I got the Debut B6. Now a happy camper!

My son has broken-in my Chromecast/Onkyo 373/Debut B6 setup nicely over the week. Bass sounded better and well-rounded. Watching some movies this weekend, I am impressed how large these speakers sound. They sound like floorstanders! Increased the bass by +2db on the AVR while playing Netlix' Brightz, and it is shaking the windows in my living room. Amazing!

I heard them during the HiFi show, a pair of 10 inch subs. Malakas though they are rather compact and probably won't rival the SVS subs for 20 Hz performance.

Interesting. Compact subs that can deliver the goods in HT. I think this is a good alternative to REL, for those constrained with their floor space.
