So its 56 - 18K = 38,000 for a curved 55" Samsung?

Sorry, it's 56,997 - 18K = 39K sir, that's why I opted for the free TV so I can recover some of my costs. My target was to have the 55JU6600 within the 40K range. Happy with my purchase naman.

Freebie was the Samsung 40J5100. Promo is extended until Oct. 15.
The reason I was in a rush last weekend was the promo (w/the freebie) was supposed to end Oct. 2. Looks like they still have several stocks left.

Consider volting in if you know somebody who's in the market for a 40 in TV. My canvass price for the Samsung 40J5100 ranges from P18,500.00 to P19,999.00 so a price of P18,000.00 should be appealing to prospective partners in the purchase.

Buy the 55" at 39t Cash, the rest use your card.

That gives you 30-40 days float to sell the 40"

Hirap mag benta if the unit is not on hand :)

or sell it further cheaper for faster transaction.

I once eyed the LG49 LED multi-HDR with free LG49 LED Gaming TV.  was supposed to sell the free TV for only 15K (or even 12K).  I already got a prospective buyer but the wifey later disapproved the TV purchase.  Now that promo has ended.

On-axis, Samsung is ahead of the pack in image quality for LCD TVs. They carry this lead over other big brands in most price points because of the superior contrast of their panels (their high end LCD panels approach OLED in image quality). They don't do as well off-axis, however.

guys,

since I got curious with 4K HDR's, I ended up buying a smaller real estate screen instead.

Sony 43X8000D, 2016 Android TV model. 4K, HDR, quad-core processor with Triluminos technology (Sony patent). madali naman ito ibenta later kapag okay na ako sa mas malaki. i'm still learning about new things like iFlix/Netfilx and other UHD streaming channels, including 4K Youtube and digital terrestrials. I still also need to upgrade my internet bandwidth. hindi pa available PLDT Fibr sa area namin, anyway.

basically, Android TV usage experience is very different with the usual TVs. para ka talagang gumagamit ng celfone only you can't do touchscreen control. it's a very interesting experience navigating through-it. you'll access icons, including Android recommended ones are there on your home screen. maraming pindot sa remote bago mo magawa kailangan mo gawin. I need to learn if I could re-shuffle the icons (like on smart phones). ilalagay ko sa ibabaw yung "Input" options kasi nilagay nila sa ilalim eh. but any external inputs (connected and turned-on) will be detected. I set analog TV as default. so upon turning it on, analog TV kaagad bubukas. press HOME screen on the remote if you need to do other things on the TV.

i placed it in our small bedroom na balak ko gawing entertainment room. I hooked up an LG SH5 soundbar with it.

VA panel si 43" (like all Samsungs) unlike IPS panel kapag 49" (like all LG's). kung next higher model series X8500D, it comes with IPS panel on 55" & 65" real estate, i think. but X8000D and X8500D are basically the same. not sure why series# is changed according with screen sizes.

eto specs niya:
http://www.sony-asia.com/support/product/KD-43X8000D

what I'll need urgently next are:
- airMouse or wireless logitech gamepad
- or wireless keyboard logitech K400+
- 64GB USB thumb drive -- since the out-of-the-box remaining internal storage is only 8GB, you can set a USB drive as external storage for your installed apps. good enough, right? removable pa! so you can use multiple USB drives, perhaps 1 for each of my family members =))

need to install:
- MX Player app (haven't tried VLC) for HEVC X265 videos to play
- ES Explorer app for a better file management when searching thru your large USB external media storage
- some game apps (which are aplenty on Android Play store)

with my untrained eyes, picture quality (including colors, fast scenes response including interpolation, near-4K upscaling 1080P videos) on this Sony model is better than these brands' models (as compared, limited to only):
- Sammy 7000 HDR series
- LG 6100, 6500 and even the 7700 HDR which recently I was really planning to buy
- Devant UHV200

note: PQ of this Sony even became better after some setting tweaks at home -- but I think i'm not through yet as I need to test/observe all different video/movie materials which i currently have. i believe it would improve even more!

for those interested, got this 43X8000D for only P31,100 cash... while 49X8000D is offered for P47,500. with a mere difference of 6" screen size (other than the IPS panel) and P16,000, I decided to go with the smaller VA panel =))

Any feedback from owners of the 55JU6600
55’’Curved UHD Smart TV at P56,997

So far, so good for me sir; very satisfied with my purchase (esp. that I was able to sell the free TV). I did test the TV by bringing demo videos to check if PQ would still be acceptable before purchasing it (720p, 1080p, different formats). The SAs were also kind enough to let me copy all of their Samsung UHD/SUHD demo videos from the store.

I'm a 1st time curved/UHD TV user and I can really tell the difference. I'm not sure if it's just a placebo effect but I am able to notice the "curved experience" to some extent (viewing distance around 12ft). Although I don't find anything really special about the features (settings, smart TV functions, etc.); PQ and 4K upscaling is very good on this TV (caveat: I may have an untrained eye though). The native 4K demo videos are stunning to watch. My Cignal (via PLDT Home Fibr) broadcast is crisp & clear especially the HD channels. Sound is also better as compared to my 51F5000 plasma.

There is somewhat a "3D effect" which I would later find out to be Samsung's auto-depth enhancer feature. The "soap opera effect" is also apparent (which I personally do not like since images look too clean/artificial); of course this feature can be turned off. I am just uncomfortable with the smart remote (it's actually cool but maybe I'm just too used to conventional remotes). Maybe in time, I'll get used to it.  ;D

@lite751, thank you for sharing your feedback. I went to ABENSON to evaluate the 55JU6600 but sadly I did not find it to me personal liking.

The staff were very cooperative and even allowed me to compare the 55JU6600 with other models and brands offered for sale. In the end I decided I will wait for OLED to become more affordable...
