Topic: Horizontal Bars on Display

Hi guys, quick question.

My Sony 50'' flatscreen (I don't know the exact model number) suddenly has black horizontal lines on screen. The display also flickers from time to time. I checked and tested all inputs and it's still the same. It just so happened that the unit is already out of warranty recently.

1.) Do I go about having it repaired? Or do I start canvassing for a new tv?

2.) What are the possible causes of this and how do I prevent it?

Could be a board problem or panel problem, either of the two.

Have it checked in the service center.
