Airing out the listening room. Done every 2-3 days or when the weather is good. Once the soundproofed window-doors are closed, the room is pretty much airtight. A half hour or so of open doors and windows refreshes all the air in the room. :)

After a little more than half an hour of open windows, its time to shut them and enjoy the low noise floor. :)

sarap siguro tambayan nyan chief. Ganda. :)

Thank you, sir. Most of my listening is done at night after work. Sadly, neighborhood kids playing outside are noisy, so I shut the windows and close the soundproof doors for peace and quiet. Hehe.. :)

Tita, have you already tried Rotel matched with your floorstanders?

Not yet, pare.

I chose the Emotiva amp because its the most cost-effective 200wpc amp with XLR balanced inputs. My preamp is 8m away and RCA cables that long will negatively affect the sound, not unless I spend for ultra-high-end cables. Since the Emotiva amp has balanced XLR inputs, I can use DIY cables.

If you have a Rotel amp that you'd like to try, bring long RCA cables. Subukan natin. :)

That makes sense Tita. Inaalala ko kung sino yung may Rotel amp dito, si boss Paeng nga ba? Either way, I can borrow one from our favorite suki dealers. Set na ba natin?

Game.

By the way, this is how my system is hooked up. My signal cables are 8 meters long. They are balanced XLR instead of RCA to avoid noise. Also, the loudspeakers are bi-amped. :)

If the Rotel is a 2-channel amp, I can modify the speaker cables and make them bi-wire instead of bi-amp. Then just bring long RCA cables and we're in business. :)

Time for a minor update. :)

I purchased Two-dimensional Quadratic Residue Diffusers (2D QRD) from acoustician extrordinaire, renowned system designer and turntable aficionado, Mr. Tony Rodriguez.

I hate manually screwing things. Power is better. Hahaha.. :)

Here they are up on the wall behind the speakers. Sound hitting it gets scattered in a predictable and consistent manner, making the wall seem much further away. Gives expansive depth to well-recorded songs. Easier to hear the singer in front with the band behind. :)
