Sir, need some advice, notice you use emotiva 5 channel bi amp, mas ok ba to use Emotiva 3 or 5 channel (Bi amp front) for B&W 804 and htm2 center
For bi-amp front plus mono center channel, you will need a 5-channel amp. Sakto yung XPA-5. :)

magkano inabot yang ganyang room renovation sir?
For the materials alone, umabot po ng almost 185k. Wala pa po yung labor. If including labor, the room is my most expensive audio component. Hehe.. :)

Yes, but you can probably do it for much less than that amount if you are not building a "room within a room." If the dimensions of your existing room are acoustically friendly, then all you need are minor treatments on the walls. :)

Time for a minor update. I've gone analog. :)

With help from some loving Filipino expats who reside in Singapore, I was able to get a good deal on a turntable. Here are some photos. :)

ABOVE: ClearAudio Performance DC Turntable with custom dust cover. The 40mm thick platter is made from Delrin and is magnetically suspended on a ceramic shaft. Virtually no friction when it spins. A "Quadro Plattenklemme" record weight is on top. :)

ABOVE: "Clarify" tonearm, also from ClearAudio. It also has a magnetic bearing.

ABOVE: Ortofon 2M Black. According to reviews, it is a Moving Magnet cartridge that sounds very close to Moving Coil.

ABOVE: Power. From left to right, Weiduka AC8.8 sold by Narayan (Boss Obet), PLIXIR Linear Power Supply for the turntable (aftermarket accessory, did not come stock with the turntable), ClearAudio Basic Plus Power Supply for the Phono Preamp.

ABOVE: A closer look at the PLIXIR linear power supply. The Turntable came with a 12V wall wart, which uses a switch-mode power circuit. Friends in Singapore commissioned PLIXIR to build a custom linear power supply. Hook up an oscilloscope to the output of a Switch-mode power supply and you will see tiny spikes corresponding to its switching frequency. This can negatively affect the sound. The PLIXIR power supply is linear and is rated at a higher current than the stock ClearAudio wall wart. It produces 12V cleanly, with absolutely no spikes in the output. Net effect, better sound. :)

ABOVE: A closer look at the separate power supply of the ClearAudio Basic Plus Phono Preamp. They manufactured it this way so that whatever tiny amounts of noise and stray magnetic fields it produces can be placed far away from the phono stage itself. This lowers the noise floor and improves the sound. :)

ABOVE: The Phono Preamp itself.

ABOVE: The output of the Phono Preamp goes to an input of the Main Preamp.

ABOVE: Turntable setup and cartridge alignment was made easy with the Dr. Feickert protractor. :)

ABOVE: A view of the turntable, amplifier and speakers. :)

Now for some tunes. :)

Some LPs:

ABOVE: Its also nice to compare DSD vs LP vs CD. Train the ears to hear the minute differences. :)

ABOVE: My favorite LP as of now. This one gets a lot of playtime. :)

Some Classical LPs:

And other LPs I enjoy listening to... :)

The last LP actually sounds good. No kidding. :)

Minor updates:

RCA cable from Phono preamp to preamp. What you see is the back of the preamp. This is an excellent cable. Major improvements in space, air and soundstaging. :)

Lots of fingerprints dahil atat ikabit at pakinggan. Hehe.. Shunyata PS8 with Venom HC power cord and Defender noise isolator/surge protector. Very effective. Massive improvement in soundstaging, imaging and focus. :)

A closer view of the Shunyata Venom Defender noise isolator/surge protector, plugged into the first socket. Other power cords c/o @Narayan. :)

Airing out the listening room. Gaps common in sliding windows allow outside noise to come in. Additional airtight doors keep it out. Opening them for a few minutes each day refreshes the air. Fart goes out, fresh air comes in. :)

I had the opportunity to visit Elco's place last Saturday. Definitely jawdropping interior and SQ. This room is something only mere mortals like me can only dream of. Everything is well thought off from acoustic treatment, cable & gears management and placement to the size and shape of the room. But it doesn't end there. This would prove that a carefully planned room will definitely produce good quality music.

To my preference this would be one hell of a system for reference. Tonality is superb. The highs are not ear piercing even at above moderate levels. The mids are normally forward and very natural. The lows gives proper weight to the music. Never boomy at all. This may not appeal to some but for me, It's how it should be. And oh, the dynamics! Those massive Emotivas made me tap my feet. I'm sure someone would regret selling them.  ;D Imaging is spot on, life size with reference to room width. Very seldom do I hear a room that naturally produces images that are beyond the left and right speaker boundaries evenly spaced. This is a place where you can enjoy the system and the music as well.

Thank you for allowing me to visit your mancave. My family enjoyed our short stay.
