Samsung (the 49"/55" model of the KS7000 is known as KS8000 in the US.)

Not being adversarial or antagonistic but what is your basis that the US' Ks8000 = PH's Ks7000? Is it based on body shape? They share the same TV stand configuration and border thickness of 5mm?
I trust photographers and video people's choice as they prioritize audio and picture quality in hardware so I tend to check bhphotovideo.com for what are their
best selling TVs. The site has a very user-friendly filter system to only show what features are important to you.
This is in stark contrast to Amazon who caters to everyone hence TCL being as popular as Samsung and Sony. Their filter system doesnt help in narrowing the feature sets you want among the best selling models.
On BH the #1 selling set is a Full HD Samsung. #2 is a 55" KS8000 4K TV.
When you filter for only 4K flat TVs without 3D then you get the top 24 selling TVs.
Samsung's KS8000, KU6300, KU7000, KU6290, KS9000, JU6500
Sharp K7000U, N8000U
LG B6P, UH6100, UH6500
Sony X830C
Back to LG vs Samsung, I talked to a friend in the semiconductor industry and his first question about my quality control issue with the Samsungs I own is what year these were bought. He gave the impression that the more recently sold TVs are more reliable and wont break down.
As an appliance that I expect to work service-free for at least 10 years I am wary of getting another Samsung. If they gave me a 10 year warranty then I might consider them again. 2 years isnt enough in my opinion. I have the impression it will break down on the first half of the 3rd year.
The next TV I get after the 4K I am getting today should be a 8K after Trump steps down from office in 8 years.
