Integrating a Tube Preamp (Am I doing it right?)
« on: Oct 15, 2016 at 11:42 AM »
Hi everyone!

I have a Little Dot MKii + Tube Headphone Amp / Preamp arriving in a couple of weeks and I was looking to pair it with my NAD 304.  I made a diagram of what I was thinking of doing.  My objectives are stated as well.  Is this feasible? Any issues, you think?

That should work.

Just remember to turn on your LD 1st during power on sequence and turn it off last when shutting down your system to avoid any nasty thumps (just in case).

With the various inputs selected, is the Main In always able to receive a signal?

With the various inputs selected, is the Main In always able to receive a signal? It comes across to me that the Main In is using the NAD as a power amp.

It should, coming from the LD. The Tape Out is taken before the preamp but after the input selector so any source selected by the NAD is sent to the LD.
