sir, that is too much to start with tapos +5db gain pa sa receiver. you might fry the amp if you set the sub improperly.

then set gain to 9-10 o'clock, 0º phase
Be sure to set your Fronts, center & surround speakers to small or 80hz, LPF to LFE = 120hz
Set xover to Max or LFE on your sub, then do the calibration from your receiver. Make sure na Ear-Level yung calibration mic mo when you're sitting on your listening position, mas maganda if same level ng tweeter ng front speakers mo.
Based on my own experience, good results after calibration for the sub is -1,0 &/or +1db, then 5db hotter sa receiver.

one needs to level match the subwoofer to the main speakers.  kund dinaan sa tancha, masisira ang woofer, and this is not covered by warranty.

it set my sub -6db  at 12oclock i think.
only tested the ht at 1.5 hrs cartoon and 1hr music.still have issues with the cosmetics of sub.still researching if its normal na hindi pulido yung adhesive nya ss woofer

for me, sa movies mahina sound ng pb1000 pag medium to large room.
kaya yung iba dual pb1000 or single pb2000 kinukuha. pero pag music ok naman pb1000.

Kunan mo kaya ng close up shot then post here para makita kung normal nga ba o hindi ang cosmetic issue sa sub.

Kakabitin ba? Nasa iyo na lahat pero parang di magkaiigi... Hehehe...

Take time at magpapawis ka kakalikot til you hit it. Isang tip sa placement ng sub is to place it sa sweet spot then while playing your chosen test tone, pumwesto ka sa target locations then kung saan ang best doon mo ilagay ang sub. That is kung may option ka other than its location nya ngayon.

Start low on your calib then increase gradually. Dami mong kailangan i-back read. Hth.

This pretty sums up what you need to do when calibrating. Be easy on the gain. Imho, bass must be felt but not much heard.

ayoko nga sya iparefund dahil ok naman yun nga lang ang pinaka lowest na setting na nagawa ko na ramdam naman ang bass is +1db and 1oclock gain.phase 0 lfe 0.kapag hndi pa rin safe eto bitin nga sya.hindi pwede mas malaki kasi hindi na kakasya.

pagka test ko inistop ko mna gamitin at baka mavoid pa warranty.

mas gsto ko nga replacement kaso gusto talaga ni sir mike refund na lang.sana makumbinse pa

Try mo ilipat ng placement. Di naman kailangan nasa harap ang sub. Pwde sya sa gilid ng sofa. Invest for a longer quality cable para umabot sa likod ng sofa.

replacement ng pb2000 na, kasi nga naman kung same item malamang same result labas nyan. Invest more pa brader you wont regret it. IMHO

maraming factors why a subwoofer would not perform according to expectations. may times yung reproduction ng movie mismo at music na di maganda. yung size at orientation ng lugar kung saan nakalagay ang subwoofer, yung adjustments done after calibration a  panghuli panglasa ng nakikinig. madalas proper placement ng subwoofer ang culprit kaya kailangang ilipat lipat ng posisyon hanggang makuha yung tunog na gusto.kung may limitasyon sa paglilipat at ayaw din ng mas malaking subwoofer mahirap makuha ang expected results. may kanya kanya ding pang lasa baka di akma sa panlasa mo ang pb1000 kaya talagang mahirap ma meet ang expectation.

For me its a very minor cosmetic issue and should not affect performance.
Extended part na ng bond yong part na yan. Im not an expert though...

Ano bang source mo ng movies? Bluray? Mkv? Iso? Gaano kalaki ang file? Have you tried movies with dts hd master audio track? Or true hd.

^ may not affect performance pero kung pwede naman palitan, why not habang maaga pa. Kesa naman laging di ka mapakali. Dyan mo gamitin ang reason why gusto ni wifey ang brand new.

Kagaya ng post ko earlier, laruin mo muna ang pwesto ng sub. Hanap ka kasama kung ayaw mong sumakit ang likod hehe... Yan ang pinagkaiba sa HTIB but milya naman ang pinagkaiba once masetup mo na.

to tell you honestly sir, pinakamahirap isetup/calibrate ang subwoofer sa ht system, maaaring nasanay ang tenga mo sa boom boom boom pero wala/kulang naman sa  SQ, so iniiexpect mo na kailangan lakasan ang subwoofer para masatisfy ka, pero hindi kasi ganon pagdating sa subwoofer.
pero based uli sa experience ko, pinakaimportante ay yung PROPER SUBWOOFER PLACEMENT.  It's a BIG NO na ilalagay mo ang subwoofer mo sa gitna ng HT mo lalo na yung nasa gitna ng front wall mo, Null point or whatever they call it yung pwesto na yun. Hindi rin idinidikit sa wall ang sub, dapat may clearance atleast not less than 8" (<correct me na lang guys if i'm wrong).     
Anyway, mas madali ka sana naming matutulungan kung meron kang layout ng HT room mo or kahit picture.

Or maybe SVS is not for you right now, mag-try ka na lang ng ibang sub, try mo kila aaudio/diymaster, marcopilyo for diy subs baka mas masatisfy ka sa mga gawa nila, malay natin di ba?

Maybe user expectation is the issue. The SVS sub itself is very capable. The way the issue was described is that to get to the level that the user is happy the gain was cranked all the way up.

Most modern day systems components like subwoofers have a plethora of adjustment parameters that can cater to a wide variety of users tastes but if the expectation is far too great for the component to deliver then its not an issue with the hardware anymore.

you really need to re-position your sub and follow the advice others have given you.

Sub ko nasa 11 o'clock lang at never maski 1 o'clock. 3 o'clock?

Saang shop o ht ka nakapag audition nga pala? What you have in mind or expectation prior?

Ang hanapin mo details and balance. A good setup hindi puro boom boom. Having a sub doesn't mean ioverpower nya ang iba. Natural lang na nakatuon ang isip mo sa LFE kaya di ka na makapag concentrate sa palabas. Panoorin mo muna yung may magandang SFX.
Merong thread dito about test movies...pakihanap na lang.

things i learned since i joined pdvd (with much happy regrets)

tips on audio gears:

1.  location location location
2.  use corrective acoustics (50% of the equation yan)
3.  you haveto have the correct measuring gears to calibrate. di yan play by ear.... if you dont have that, have it calibrated by the pros..
4.  dont overexpect.  if you buy an entry level toyota, dont expect a high end lexus
5.  set aside funds.. as in major FUNDS. magastos na bisyo ang HT.

yes, 11db hot and not counting the increase in the analog gain knob equals subwoofer ruining levels.
