Need help choosing Media Player
« on: Nov 16, 2016 at 04:38 PM »
Hi Guys,

Need help lang, I'm planning to buy a media player, kaso matagal na kong hindi nag foforum. Nakapag lurk ako and ito pa lang nakikita ko na pasok sa budget ko.

Zidoo X6 Pro
Mede8er MED450X2S

More on streaming, watching movies, mostly ang purpose ko since direct TV ko lang gagamitin. Also IOS friendly rin sana.

Any suggestions pa mga sir?

You'd want something that can play x265 at least. Do you want to go 4k?

I think you should make a list first of what's important to you (must have's), then the "good to have, but not a deal-breaker", and the "things I can live without". This way, you can compare what player would be the perfect fit  for you (budget aside) :)

After trying many different Media Players, the Himedia Q10 still gets my choice.
Unfortunately it is not IOS friendly as it is android based.

All the good media players are based on android, but the Himedia Q10 pro is best in the market.

Any Kata Box 2 owners here?
I created an fb group when it was released last august.
It's called Kata Box 2 Users Group with 188 members as of counting. ;)
I know its only a 1gb device with s905 Soc.
Out of the box the stock rom that came from Kata is laggy.
Over the months I've experimented and bricked and revived the kata box 2,
Now we have some good roms to play with.
wifi, bluetooth remote working..
-Finless rom
-superceleron rom
-tronsmart vegas s95 pro(stock)
-Minix U1 rom FW008 (coming from Beelink MINI MX)
-Minix U1 rom FW009 (ported by me)
-Minix u1 rom FW010 (ported by me)
-Android TV rom based on 1.0.2
-WeOS 1.0.3

Currently testing the Marshmallow rom Development build Wetek working for the HUB.,
I spent the summer wasting
The time was passed so easily

if you're planning on changing the rom from the stock.. no root needed since you can install the rom using custom recovery.
or you can use a male to male usb cable via usb burning tool..
head over to the group.. i have posted some video tutorials.. :D

I have 2 android based media players but I prefer the simplicity and easement of traditional media players.

Also my question. Mahirap talaga to be inactive for months on end. All the media player brands I knew before are no longer talked about. Hahaha.

Due to space constraints, I am looking at media players again and would appreciate getting some brand recommendations - much better if models as well. Thanks!

I recommend Wetek Hub.  it's cheaper and has a very small form factor.  but performs really well.

audition, audition, audition until you knew which NMT is for your needs..
