Is 1080p ok for a 27" Monitor?
« on: Dec 01, 2016 at 02:32 AM »
Hi All,

I'm looking to get a new monitor in a few months and I'm looking at this 27" LG monitor with FreeSync.
https://dynaquestpc.com/product/lg-27mp68vq-27-inch-ips-frameless-led-monitor/

My PC will sport an AMD RX470 and I do not intend to game at 4k within the next 2-3 years so 1080p should fit that bill for me.

Having said that, I fear the 1080p resolution might make pixels obvious espcially on 27 inch monitor. Is this something I should be concerned about?

I'm getting conflicting reports from other forums and it seems to be subjective. Price is also a factor.

TIA

I'm using an Asus VX279H with R9-280x card. I dont see any pixelation or any discoloration. Coming from a 24" monitor the only difference i notice is the fan level of the card when playing FPS it goes up to 80% on the 27 while it was just around 60% sa 24 on high settings. Pero I think it was not a very good investment. I should have gotten a 144hz monitor instead

You have to sit farther from the 27" 1080p screen until a point where you will not see the pixels.

You can test this at the store.

I am using a 24" 1080p for the computer.  I decided against the 27"  because I had to sit further back by 10 inches.

I'm using 23" 1080p LCD monitor and it is all good. For 27" I suggest you get 1440p instead so you can work up close.

mali pala sinabi ko..
720p lang pala old 32 ko...

since im now on 1080p55... not super sharp but... still great for me
