I have an Xbox one S and if possible I'd like to rake advantage of the HDR.

Debating between this and the Sony 49x8000e

same here.. dapat 50" lang talaga balak ko.. sa akin naman 2,000 ang difference kaya naging 55 ang nakuha ko.. was about to get the curve version.. add lang ako ng 4,000 pero parang medyo nakakahilo pag binabago ko point of view.. saka parang di ako satisfied pag nag view ka sa isang side, dapat parang lagi sa center lang ang point of view.. just my observation..

So just an update, I was deciding between this and the Sony 49x8000e.

I brought my media player and a bunch of DVD's (YES, you read that right DVD's) to the TV's side by side.
And in my eyes, the Sony's picture quality looked better than this Samsung (just my opinion, do not let it hamper your enjoyment of this TV)

I also found out later that this Samsung uses an 8-bit panel meaning it's not true HDR since HDR needs a 10-bit panel.

add ko na rin sa future buyers, kaya ng ku6000 bumasa ng 8tb external hard drive with power adaptor

Akala ko mata ko lang may problema.. distorted kasi sa tinging ko kapag sa side ang location ng viewing.. lalo na pag may diretsong line sa scene or palabas.. nagiging paliko.. just my opinion.. ended up buying the flat one.. in my mind talagang gusto ko ng curve nung una ko pa lang makita sa display.. pero in my eyes.. balik ako sa flat.. it's a good thing sa Ansons Cash and Carry.. my display comparison sila side by side..

If you intend it to be used like your remote like to forward or to play back, increase sound and others, then, wala... But if you intend to use it for web browsing, then pwede.... tried it with those wireless mouse with dongle...

marami kasi ang nagsabi na di daw compatible ang mga keyboard/mouse with dongle.. yes para po ito sa web browsing sana..

believe it or not.. while setting my Xiaomi Mi Box.. my 55KU6000 just konk out.. just a blinking red light and does not turn on anymore.. just a blinking red light.. hayahay.. kakukuha ko pa lang nito last friday..

It's supposedly a 10-bit panel, based on rtings testing. Check the gradient below:

What was not clear to me with this Samsung TV when checking reviews was if it supports HDR10 which is the standard used by the Xbox One S and the Ps4 Pro when watching HDR movies.

It fully supports HDR10, but it is not Ultra HD Premium Certified. It lacks the wide color gamut and the peak brightness required to meet that specification. Current LCD TVs typically need a quantum dot backlight to meet the gamut and intensity requirements of this specification (which the KU6000 does not have).

You said it better than me Master Stagea, that's exactly what I was trying to point out. Though this Samsung says HDR, we can't actually take advantage of the feature because it does not have a wide color gamut.

It's hard to get consistently wide gamuts at this price point. The X8000E can only deliver it when displaying bright images; the gamut shrinks below the KU6000 at low luminosity levels. This makes the X8000E better in the highlights, and the KU6000 better in the shadows.

Sony X8000E

Samsung KU6000

They both can't hold a candle against a high end LCD or a high end OLED:

LG E6

Both have their strengths and weaknesses...

Just got my replacement from Anson's.. talagang kahit doon ayaw na magsindi yung panel.. hays.. too bad for a 3 day old panel.. ang hassle dito is need ko pa manghiram ng mas malaking sasakyan.. hindi kakasya sa sedan.. sabi nung sales rep meron daw dun last day nagtest may dalang 8TB.. sa palagay ko si sir anya yun.. hahahaha ang tagal daw talagang nag test.. hehehe.. ang lilinaw daw ng mga movies na laman ng hard drive nyo
