Just bought this for my father in law, plan to give him an HDD full of content and update nalang every now and then.

Any recommended Android TV apps that act like PLEX (aside from PLEX) na ma organize and download thumbnails, synopsis etc.,?

Nagkamali daw sila ng release sa non Globe broadband subscriber this past few days.

btw, any of you experiencing youtube vids not playing immediately? and if it does, back/forward will stop the vid then takes a while to recover, sometimes ayaw na... using the built-in chromecast instead when using youtube.

Mi box is also available dito sa globe cyberzone in cabanatuan city. Nobody is asking about it, yung staff nila hindi alam gamitin. Will be getting one in a while

Ayos sir! AD free na ba yang Terrarium TV mo? Currently have Covenant Addon with kodi pero mas gamit ko na Terrarium TV..

Great! This is very convenient. Very organized, too. Although I would still prefer to use Kodi to play my ISO files when I'm not streaming.

Another sad observation about a big company with its clueless people. I remember when I purchased a Mi Box from their branch in Quezon City, a sales staff manning the booth asked me: "Paano ba yan ginagamit?" Then they kept on egging me to subscribe to their data plans to go with the box. For example, something like 300GB/month with free Netflix (which I already have) for 6 months. Which is a dud, considering that a single episode of a Netflix show in HD quality alone (not in 4K, take note) would typically consume around 5GB. That's going to be 60 episodes only for 300GB, but Globe advertises 300 movies can be streamed for the same amount of data. At what quality? Low-res, for sure.

People binge on video-streaming these days. People binge-watch entire seasons of a Netflix show with 8 to 13 episodes per season on their big TV panels, not on CRT TVs. Globe doesn't seem to understand the uselessness of their data plans when it comes to HD-quality streaming.

Netflix says it uses 3GB/ hour for HD and 7 GB/hour for UHD.

Typically a TV show episode runs for 45 minutes or soo.

I guess it is around 2.5 GB per episode. I have been looking at my data consumption. It seems to be spot on.

I'm a Netflix user with the Mi Box. I'm using a 50mbps broadband and I notice that with my actual use I get different data consumption everytime, depende kung okay ang network speed, hindi naman lagi okay kasi ang connection. I get around 1.5GB on a very bad day, minsan from 2GB or 2.85GB for a typical episode, minsan halos umabot ng 4GB or so for the full hour show (not 45 minutes) but not always 3GB. Shows lasting one hour and a half also reach almost 5GB, sometimes less, sometimes more. Pag 4k naman, lampas din ng bahagya sa 7GB. Hindi rin siya exact 7GB because I do get 4k at 6.8GB or 7.2GB. When Netflix implemented adaptive streaming, their network adjusts to the condition of the end user's network at the time of viewing. Kaya napansin ko yung parehong show may not consume the same amount of data when viewed at a different time or different day because of quickly changing network conditions kaya hindi necessarily pareho sa Netflix estimates for data consumption. I'm just glad Netflix implemented adaptive streaming and it works well with the Mi Box.

^Also on 50mbps connection and iba iba talaga makukuha mo na speed since automatically adjust the bitrate of the video.
for the bitrate for 1080p video nasa 4300kbps to 5800kbps(Max). minsan it stays on 4300kbps tapos babalik ulit sa 5800kbps
for 720p nasa 2350kbps and 3000kbps.

If naka smartDNS kayo like Getflix. You can run a test video called El Fuente: 60 main10. https://www.netflix.com/title/70297469
Di siya searchable so better open the link in your computer's browser first then add it to your "My List" para lumabas sa Mi Box mo.
You should see the current resolution and bitrate of the video on the upper right corner of the screen.
If you naka PH library ka lang then just do a search for "test patterns" may mga test videos rin doon.

Went to Globe ATC this afternoon, guy at the counter told me that the promo for mi box
applies only to brdband subscribers on a 200/mo scheme but still at 3800 php
I queried on the 2400 deal, he has no idea on this,

Anyone who can vouch that this 2400 promo at ATC is true?!

Yes sir, eto na yung AD free. Na install ko rin yung LiveNET.tv for Filipino channel way better than SETV at ang mahaga libreee! LoL!

Yes sir, I still have my Kodi though I find TerrariumTV more reliable. Hindi na kasi naguupdate add ons ng Kodi at laging "No stream available" sa mga TV shows.

I went to the closest globe store sa area namin in SM BF Sucat.
sabi nila aware daw sila sa sale but di daw naka sale sa branch nila.
yung mga malalaking Globe stores lang daw yung nag sale ng 2.4k.
