I received the patch this afternoon. It fixed the issue with Kodi :) not sure about the other issues though.

is this the official patch or the beta?

congratz to Mi Box III users.  glad they are now going extended support because of Oreo.  maybe 1 by 1 issues may come up and gets resolved all in entirety.

Kodi is still not detecting my thumb drive via USB.

Tried opening the file via MX player and Yes player ayaw din.

Sa ES Explorer then open with VLC lang gumagana  :-\

Even after the latest update, I still experience intermittent wifi connection as there are times I receive notice that there is no wifi... But it is no longer as frequent as before...

Coming from Mark of Xiaomi.eu forums.
There's going to be an internal beta OTA fix for WiFi stability and Google Assistant issue to be released next week.

There's also going to be a possible unofficial downgrade to Marshmallow.

since I received the patch last July 17, here's what I observed.

- Kodi v.18 Leia can read my external hdd, but cannot read some files and it don't even appear on the list. but when I checked using Archos player, file is existing. I've downgraded to Kodi v.17.6 Krypton, problem solved!
- sometimes "Wi-fi not connected" only appeared when I was watching videos and not using it for streaming or YT. but while streaming naman I did not encounter any wi-fi disconnection.
- no more issues with YouTube wherein some videos are not playing. in fact, I noticed that much faster na YT mag play, usually less than 3 seconds mag play na kaagad. although I think this was resolved when MiBox was upgraded to Oreo.
- I don't know if it's just me, pero parang mas maganda picture quality ngayon, colors are more vibrant and clearer, pansin ko lalo na sa YT.

Happened after updating to Oreo. The patch did not fix it.

I'll try renaming the HDD later, hope it solves the problem.

after the oreo update and the patch, my mibox still recognize the path and remembers where the movie title is stored. anyway i sold my mibox yesterday, still lots of bugs because of oreo. i bought minix u9h instead and use coreelec.

Mga bro, dati after turning "OFF" my Mi Box thru the remote, the next time if I want to turn it "ON," I just need to press the power button of the remote and then it turns "ON." I know that it was actually just on a "STAND BY" mode. But now after the Oreo update, if after I left it "OFF" for a long time, and then I want to turn it "ON," I could no longer do it tru the remote. I have to unplug the devise and plug it thereafter to turn it ON. Is this what you are experience also? Or is it just me?

Pati after going to sleep ni Mi Box 3 dahil sa inactivity, kailangan rin unplug-plug para mag-ON...

Is this the provided modem/router by Globe that uses 4G signal uvia simcard? If it is, then I believe this router only has a max of 7 spool. which means only 7 devices can be connected at the same time. i had the same router prior to switching to my new ISP. New devices cannot connect to the router as pool is already maxed out. try to disconnect other devices first then restart your mibox then try to connect it again.

Sorry medyo matagal ako nakabalik. I ony use 4 devices kaya hindi pa maxed out. I restart my router and mibox para mauna magconnect ang mibox. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesnt. Minsan maski yung mibox lang ang gamit ko, hindi pa rin magconnect. I need to repeat the procedure again and again hanggang maging successful (sometimes even up to 10 times, tiyaga lang). I don't know how to set up a static ip.

last Sunday, I was able to assist a friend get a Mi Box 3 from SM City Sucat -- P3.6K

when we set it up the 1st time at our home, with a fresh Kodi 17.6 installation, I can attest this Mi Box 3 can effortlessly play:
- 4K HDR BT2020 and 4K BT709 -- both 10Bit and 8Bit AVC/HEVC
- ATMOS/DTS:X pass-through without a glitch

we used the stock HDMI cable and have not (nor any foreseeable plans to) updated to Oreo yet.

my friend is now using it at his home with a 1080P TV.  4K losses its intended brightness, color and definition.  but the important thing is it can be downscale if your source is 4K.  likewise, his AVR is 5.1, so ATMOS & DTS:X audio are also downmixed.

it was the first and the only time that I had this in my hand.   my first impression: recommended.  it's superb for its very reasonable price.  =))

I think it's meant for mobile devices lang kaya wala sa playstore, and maybe the reason why there's no option to cast it in MiBox.

Thanks bro

I have it installed on mine. If you can't find it on the Play Store on your Mi Box, you can access play.google.com on your PC while logged in and then have the app installed to your Mi Box remotely from there.
