I sold all my gears in 2015. It was in our living room then and I couldn't get the sound I wanted mainly due to acoustics. Back then, I was running Aurum Cantus floorstander and tube amps but it sounded so-so. When I was fed-up and also needed money for the kids, I ended selling everything and decided to say goodbye to this hobby. NOTE: If only its possible to sell the living room, un sana binitawan ko and kept the gears. hahaha!
To cut the story short, my wife who is more passionate in audio and has better ears missed this hobby so much and decided to have a simple set-up in our bedroom. So we did a lot of audition and finally picked the Focus FS-688 early last year, We did not rush buying an amp, instead, we visited fellow audiophile to hear the speakers using their amps. Shoot-out ng pasasalamat to Muypogi, Luis, Mykel18 and DTS_HD that allowed us to test the speakers for better matching.
To improve acoustics in the room, we dished-out unnecessary clutters. No more TV and led the kids to another room to give way for the simple set-up.
Violla! Audio is much much better now plus, no, its a BIG PLUS as it turns-out that my wife and I got to stay longer in our room! With that, our relationship also flourished. Given the privacy, its suits the best time to talk, listen to audio and hmmmm.....
Now is the fun part - tuning the room.
