I have not heard both so I cannot comment on which one you should choose.
I recently purchased a more expensive phono pre; to my ears it did not sound any better than my vintage amps so I put it back to its nice box.  ;D
If you are really keen on buying you have to audition using your own amp. My suggestion is use the money towards a purchase of used integrated amps this way you will have a more flexible system.

Just my 2 cents.

thanks, just bought the rega fono mini a2d instead good soundstage.  But will also check outcome of phono output with vintage amps.  Hopefully i can get a vintage Marantz someday :)

Also consider iPhono. The best phono pre that i ever had

just recently bought emotiva xps-1 at amazon, open for you to listen mine ;), although I have used black cube for one of my set up but I am happy for this emotiva too  ;)

Try the iPhono2 ...  even better.
