Synopsis:
After experiencing a tragic death of a friend or family member, 8 strangers from around the world who are all exactly the same age suddenly find themselves mentally and emotionally connected. As a man named Jonas tries to bring them together, a mysterious and powerful entity only known as Mr. Whispers attempts to kill each one of them.

Sense8 was created and developed by The Matrix trilogy creators Andy and Lana Wachowski and Babylon 5 creator J. Michael Straczynski. 12 episodes for the first season have been ordered, and the series will debut on Netflix on June 5, 2015.

Cast includes Brian J. Smith, Tuppence Middleton, Aml Ameen, Bae Doona, Miguel Ángel Silvestre, Tina Desai, Max Riemelt, Jamie Clayton, Daryl Hannah, Joe Pantoliano, with Naveen Andrews as Jonas, and Terence Mann as Mr. Whispers

previewed several episodes that I'll watch later; one thing's for sure--just like Penny Dreadful, keep the kids far away while watching this.

tried watching the pilot hoping for a scifi flick, but saw dripping dildo dropped on the floor. yeah this isnt for me.

watched about 5 episodes now and i still don't know what to make of it. it's generally dragging with poor acting but i'm such a sucker for mysterious plots. i'll probably watch the entire season 1 and take it from there.

Watched half of the entire season...it's got an interesting premise, but the execution is muddled and the pilot does such a bad job of introducing the characters, but the succeeding episodes are slightly better. It also tends to get confusing whenever the story shifts from character to character and becomes even worse when those scenes only last a few seconds or is mixed in with some flashbacks--if you blink, you might miss something.

But what the heck, I might as well finish it to see how it all ends.

finally finished season 1. i don't think they'll be back for another season. if they do come back, i don't think i'll be watching it again.

Watching the first episode...I was shocked to see erstwhile Doctor Who companion Freema "Martha Jones" Agyeman naked and in bed with a TG "female"

August 8 is the birthday of all the Sense8 main characters, so Netflix decided to gift them with a Season 2 renewal:

Netflix has confirmed the launch date for the two-hour special event of the season, Sense8: A Christmas Special, launching globally Friday, December 23, 2016.

The season two story then continues with 10 new episodes launching globally on Friday, May 5, 2017.
