Hdmi cable for 4k HDR
« on: Jul 08, 2018 at 07:03 PM »
Hi guys. Need your input for hdmi cable with 4k and hdr capability.  Kailangan ba talaga 2.0a cable or 2.0 lang pwede na? Currently I have a display with HDR10, himedia q10 pro and an avr onkyo 686.  What should I look into? In my experience using a standard hdmi cable with another android box, parang pinaka optimal lang nya is 1080p so I was thinking baka may issue kung low end lang yung gamit kong hdmi cable dati.  Any input will be greatly  appreciated.  TIA.

just make sure na high speed hdmi cables ang gamitin mo, usually 18Gbps nakalagay. amazon and monoprice cables are ok.

Kailangan ba branded yung cable or pwede yung mura lang basta "high speed"? Ano tell-tale signs that I'm getting an HDMI cable that could do 4K? Ano pinakamura na cable na ganun?

kapag unbranded kasi, then walang reviews so hindi mo malalaman kung kaya niya 4K. check mo yung marketplace meron mga hdmi cables. amazon/monoprice cables nasa 500php for 3ft.

May diffrence din ba if your playing 4k files via USB only vs dedicated 4k media player?

Sir, I think basta Hi-speed hdmi kahit mura basta buo (meaning walang putol or loose connection)... At dapat yung file ay 4K...(maybe i'm wrong but that's my opinion).

I think if 4K yung TV mapo-process nya rin yung USB files mo...at kung may dedicated 4K media player ka baka mas may dagdag na processing or picture enhancements pa, thereby mas finer picture ang result (provided na magandang klase 4K media player)

best to get from reputable brands -- pinaka mura nakita ko is Monoprice brand. as for its output performance, I cannot comment since I haven't used it. may nagbebenta naman nyan dito sa PDVD.  so either you ask the seller or you should just trust the brand name and see its performance for yourself

if you're not going to watch 4K movie materials, you won't need high speed HDMI cable.  HDMI v1.4b should be good enough...  but by cheap ones nor unbranded ones?  go with reputable brands parin, of course..

I have NVIDIA Shield as external media player.  I also play 4K movies via USB movie function ng TV (both LG & Sony).  with my untrained eyes, not very much difference on picture quality whether via NVidia Shield (using AudioQuest Pearl HDMI v2.0b) or via TV's USB movie function.

I use the NVidia Shield more often since I watch 4K movies with Atmos/DTS:X audio.  other than that, you should be good only using your TV's USB movie function.

HTH!
