+1

When I was younger &  careless I plugged a big Vacuum Cleaner into a STAC 500, it shut down right away w/ a blown fuse alright.

Oversized fuse or very low quality winding kaya nasunog insulation. Dapat puputok lang ang fuse pag overloaded.

Di pa naman pumuputok ang fuse

Yaden 1500 watt AVR

1 laptop unknown power consumption
1300 watt  vintage receiver
700 watt subwoofer

I just added a power amp rated 205 watts (2 channel), 625 watts (Mono) don't know the power consumption,

Di ko pa naman pinagsasabay yung 2 amps,  most likely sa  New Year :)

- pwedeng pumutok
- pwedeng maputol ang fuse
- pwedeng mag thermal shutdown, then let it cool tapos aandar ulit
- if electronics na sya it could just shutdown due to over protection circuit being activated

hala. hahaha. di naman ata sabay sabay gumagana sir? kaya ok lang yan.  dba pag mga 1500watts dapat i consume mga 1200watts maximum lang?

For the past couple of years, its the 1300 watt receiver and the 700 watt sub is connected to the AVR.

You haven't exceeded the capacity of your Automatic Voltage Regulator. Amplifiers consume only 1/3 average power when playing music near clipping levels, probably 1/2 when playing highly compressed material at uncomfortable levels.

Knowing you could doesn't mean you should. Pero I doubt it will be a fireworks display. I do worry about that vintage, hope it's not 110V.

1. laptop is most likely 100 watts tops...
2.  a power amp rated for 1300 watts will never draw that kind of power just playing music.....more likely at 200 watts big power draw, your ears must be ringing in pain already....
3. 500 watts subwoofer., i do not believe that you will ever draw 300 watts when playing music... for the same reason at #2...

so your 1500 watt avr is in no stress at all....

music can have the same amplitudes as a sine wave but total energy content is too small in comparison...

a couple of years ago, we made an actual testing of a 1kw power amp by FTC testing methode, while we confirmed that it was actually a 1kw amp as claimed into a dummy load, playing music on the speakers, the same amp drawing 300 watts, masakit na sa tenga at dama mo ang kalabog sa dibdib...

so i think that you have nothing to worry about....
