Had a minix u1 before and I sold it. Bought a second hand nvidia shield and i am very satisfied. I also have a xiaomi mi box 3 from globe and i am also happy with it. But the shield is the best...

If the current one serves your purpose, stick otherwise shield. If reason is really just to upgrade, shield :D

haven't seen how Minix UI performs.  but interfaces are lacking in UI.  and it has no USB 3.0 -- should help play 4K HDR movies without any glitch.

for the Mi Box III, I've seen it and Shield still performs better PQ-wise.  with Hi-Media Q10 Pro, you can put in a 3.5 internal HDD, right? it performs very good as well.

among those mentioned above, Mi Box III & Shield are the only ones that are Google-certified Android TV's.  Shield would also allow you to play games as it's also a gaming console -- D-Pad controller, is included. =))  thus the price difference is very much justified with the Shield.

also got a minix u1 before, downside it got no DRM and no HDCP.  the only plus side is the external antenna and  plenty of usb ports.
after a few months of using it sold it and got a mibox , shield, and a nexus player.

Sorry for the late response mga brader, and thank you for the tips 😊

So so far the choices are Shield, MI box iii, zidoo and hi media? I guess I have to make a thorough review on these products.. Got to research further on the performance and features VS price range VS usage 👌
