medyo di makatarungan to, napaka walang kwenta talaga ng consumer protection sa atin. so pag magpapawarranty pala dapat sa sony kailngan tanggalin sa wall at ipatong muna.

Rules is rules boss.

Yeah. If they will void the warranty because of installation, then dapat they should include it. Or inform the buyer of such before the buyer makes the purchase. Plus there's no black and white document for said warranty and what they do not cover. They can easily say that it's installation defect or whatever.

7k is already some man's half month salary. The installation is max 2hrs work. Get a guy who's in business/works with gate or windows installalation napakadali lang sa kanya yan. Kung masira ang TV (of course due to warranty defect and not getting bumped or hit hard with dents) kailangan may plan B which is to set it up on stand and say it was planned to be wall mounted but you had a change of mind. Free ang service visit nyan pag warranty and may defect. That's what I'd do.

correct. unless they can prove it scientifically na mounting your tv via non-authorized installer may cause dead pixel, eh maniniwala ako sa kanila hehe. or is it written in fine print that you will void the warranty, including deal pixel issue, if mounted by non-authorized installer?

You know many companies will use every excuse under the sun to weasel out of a warranty.  Especially on an expensive one like the 75" Sony.

I myself have my own experiences, na kailangan pa sigawan yung mga CS guys before they accept the warranty.

Understandably, WelCrs speaks from the other side.   We end users have a different point of view.

Sony is Ok, its the franchise here which is not ok. Solid Corp is the one thats really bad. May mga mali silang practices which is why i lean towards LG .

I'm never gonna pay some dude 7K to install a TV on a wall. That's exactly the reason why wall install instructions are included in both the TV and the mount.  It is on the premise that the consumer may opt to install the TV using the mount. If it takes a pro to install it then instructions wont be included. it will simply state "for wall install please contact dealership"

If the TV develops a defect all you need to do is to remove it from the wall, attach the stand and call them to pick it up. If they ask you "was it installed on a wall?" followed by "did you install it by yourself?" then its a big fat NO.

baka naman next time a Sony technician needs to plug the device for it to be covered by their stupid warranty.

In the automotive industry for example If you buy a brand new OEM Supercharger from Mercedes Benz there is no install manual because it should be installed by an MB qualified mechanic.  If you have it installed outside by a non MB qualified tech the dealership will not honor the warranty.

I had the chance dati to get a bnew Samsung 82 8000 model sa USA for only P75,000 ($1480) pero inisip ko din warranty at paano kung mabasag paguwi. Pero with the warranty avoidance ng Sony and others mapapaisip ka na din to just buy from another country.

I was at sony ansons greenhills and confirmed this.

Sony guy said
43 to 65 inch cost 1500 pesos. AlreDy include wall bracket.
Above 65 inch cost 3500 pesos. Also include wall bracket.

Whoever is quoting you the 7 thou is ripping you off. Maybe confirm again. 3500 is ok for me. Actually i didnt know this and installed my 65 inch with a couple guys. They should inform the buyer. My seller didnt inform me. Bought mine at ansons makati.

I would do the same. If you’re not confident to do it by yourself - with the help of somebody of course, I will have it installed by someone else. If we’re talking about a possible occurrence of a dead pixel by just wall hanging it, I’ll just removed it there and put it on its stand and place it elsewhere. Then call the service.
If you’re claiming warranty just by dead pixel, sobrang dami lang din nilang reason why it developed such thing. Same sakit ng ulo, abala whether they’re the one who does it or not. Madaming pwedeng maging lapses and loop hole when it comes sa consumer rights/law natin. So if I were you, if you can’t haggle down the installation fee, save your 7k. Just tell them, you’re not goint to wall mount it - mahal pala eh. And try to ask one more time from another branch, like what Moks007 said, if its true that they can install for 3,500. No harm in trying to ask... again.

But since you bought a 190k TV, yeah... what’s 7k to that? :) Enjoy and congratulations sir! :)
