what could be the best integrated amp?
« on: May 30, 2019 at 09:08 AM »
hi,

what might be the best integrated amp to match a Klipsch RP6000F speaker pair?
the genre I listen to ranges from classical to heavy metal, mostly standard and OPM recently.

the room is about 45m2 and the budget is only up to 35Kphp for either a used or bnew integrated amplifier.

thanks for the inputs.

You're within budget for a brand new Rega Brio - What Hi-Fi's 2018 Amplifier of the Year (and Hi-Fi Choice 2017 Best Amp). Go to Stereofiles Audio in Sgt Esguerra, QC for the best price (they have FB and they're on Waze).

I use to think that way before. I also previously owned a Klipsch RB-8. However hirap sa transients (especially sa lows) ang low wattage SET tube amps. Unless na hindi ka malakas magpa-tugtog... Mga at least 20w push pull kayang kaya na...

My friend has a klipsh heresy, besides his all tube, he likes pairing it with the Yamaha CR 2040, although receivers are harder to find dyan. Probably try a Yamaha amp?
Sansui, Pioneer, Sonic Frontiers, Paradigm, Technics, Onkyo, PSB, TAD

for the same maker like Yamaha, different of their models will have different designs and technology so it is hard to really go by brand alone, the model number will tell you more...

the life cycle of semiconductors in japan are very short indeed, the moment these semicon houses recoup of the RnD and foundry costs, then end of life for such device soon follows, planned obsolescence if you will...

unless of course there is a huge demand, in which case Toshiba for example gives out licenses to ON semi of Fairchild to manufacture such devices as the 2sv5200/2sa19743 power trannies, which have gone down in price due to high demand and huge inventories...

also for the same era, different makers will have the same topology from brand to brand,
why is that? you may ask, and that is because the semicon manufacturers of the time period comes up with new devices and with is reference designs.....this is the same as with video card chip makers, nvidia or another will come up with a reference design and vendors work on that with their own idas...the same goes for audio, the devices that are churned out by the big semicon

Good point Sir Tony, I only have experiences with the CR 2020 and CR 2040 and so I can only comment/recommend for both models. These models are very musical and pleasant to my ears not edgy or bright sounding. If I was not short on cash back then I will have purchased the CR 2020 for keeps.
I have only seen the CA 1000 but not heard of it, this one can be a good candidate, frequency  response is 10hz to 50Khz, might tame horn loaded speakers.

for the same maker like Yamaha, different of their models will have different designs and technology so it is hard to really go by brand alone, the model number will tell you more...
