Would modern speakers work with a 90's amplifier?
« on: Aug 14, 2019 at 10:23 AM »
Hey guys, i have a sansui a-x950 amplifier. It can do 5.1

40 watt fronts @ 6ohms 12 watt center and 12 watt surround all at 6 ohms.

I'm only planning to do stereo for music.  Amp can handle 6-16 ohm.

I'm looking at wharfdale 210 and 220.

Any advise? Thanks

Actually a lot of brands would match just audition them first which one suits you. As you mentioned Wharfedale (diamond series) is a nice option. Nice sound and not too costly.
