Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industry grew out of Scandinavia’s leading audio retail chain in 1983, when the staff realized that customers often requested combinations of size, shape, performance and price that existing brands could not deliver. Driven by raw enthusiasm and unbridled optimism, DALI set out to build those loudspeakers.
Constant monitoring of consumer feedback and close attention to the real needs of the music lover and home cinema enthusiast continue to form the basis of DALI’s expansion and success in countries around the globe.

Located in the beautiful rural countryside in the heartland of Denmark, DALI’s laboratory, factory and warehouse occupy 18,000 square meters including cabinet making, spray paint shop and state of the art research and development facilities equipped with the most advanced technologies available.
The artists, artisans, craftsmen, technicians and engineers who make up the DALI team are naturally inspired by the long Scandinavian tradition of fine furniture craftsmanship as well as the Danish academic tradition of theoretical research in the acoustic sciences. By combining these two distinguished traditions, DALI has mastered the art of creating high performance loudspeakers with elegant exterior design that also contributes to their sound quality. Because standard, off-the-shelf drivers cannot live up to DALI’s strict requirements, drivers are designed from scratch by DALI engineers in close collaboration with top engineers from some of the world’s leading driver manufacturers.
Acknowledging the importance of pride of workmanship, DALI abolished assembly line production years ago, replacing them with one or two-person workstations where the workers take personal responsibility for the assembly, testing and packing of every speaker. As a result, each DALI speaker carries a label with the builder’s signature to state that visual, audio as well as electro acoustic inspection and test has been performed successfully.
