            In a 6.1 home theater set up ba what speaker are u using for the surround center speaker?  Was it the similar front center speaker or same as the surround speaker?  kaso nde naman nkabibi not sure ha..ng per piece na surround speaker di ba?

One type/size of speaker for all your channels is best especially when ur into DVD-A. Got no bad experience with this setup when watching movies.

having upgrade to 7.1 setup in mind, is it safe to use one of the speakers similar to the sorrounds speakers as the SB SPK?

For a 7.1 set-up, you mean the same surround pair for your back stereo pair?  That I believe is often recommended.
