My opinion? B&W's like the best speakers under 10,000 USD... pero until i'm willing to pay 5000 USD for a pair of floorstanders.. or 1000 USD for center channels, i'm not touching them! lol


that is a general comment about b&w as a company though..

kinda like buying a Honda Accord as opposed to buying a BMW 5 series. It's worth it. Pero price is twice as much as an accord.

I'm perfectly happy with Energy or Paradigms right now... pero yeah  no doubt the money they're asking for is worth it. Pero. money they're asking for it is 5000 usd.

As far as ive heard from other audiophiles, they say that it is truly a good model, can produce more bass as compared to the 602 bookshelf ones. Has the clarity that any audiophile needs. Saw the reviews and as far as I can say, im satisfied with what I read, but I'll take my time to audition it again.
More comments on this model will be highly appreciated =) Thanks!

fortunately, the 602.5 is one of their entry level floorstanders and doesn't cost that much. it is playing around the range of 500 USD i think...

I saw a review of this and the reviewer said it's better to get the 602 or the 603.

The 602.5 is too boomy daw. I'll try searching for that review I saw....

I know that 603 costs around 32k PHP here, (even lower on some stores I know) , that is around 630 USD.    I didn't bother asking for 604.

You're right, that is what I also read from most reviews, they suggests either a 602 or 603.  
Even a 601, according to them, is better than the 602.5 but the reviews for the 602.5 aren't that bad either.
which is why I want to hear more from users of 602.5

hmmm....you're probably right about the effect of the weakening peso. if the exchange rate (peso-dollar rate) holds steady in january, though, there's a possibility that prices could go down again. the u.s. is suffering from a problem of deflation...falling  prices due to the bursting of its stock market bubble. of course, if a middle-east conflict ensues, global oil prices could surge again and push prices upwards.

bottom line...it could go either way, but at least there's a chance for prices to fall.

Thanks for the info Myki.  Paano kung piecemeal ko bibilhin ang HT ko, for example, I buy my receiver from so and so, tapos yung sub's ko 2nd hand, tapos yung speakers ko sa LR..etc

Pero 1st time ko se setup ang HT ko, sino ang mag se set-up?! =(

No problem. I also bought mine from different places. To set it up, you can always ask questions here at PinoyDVD or at hometheaterforum.com. People are very helpful over the Internet.  :-)

Yup, si Oliver iyon. He's the owner. You can also ask the guys there for help. They could set it up for you but they'll ask for a fee so just set it up yourself. It's easy lang.

Ano ang receivers ng B&W mo?  I just got off the phone with a shop owner and accrdg to him, B&W's shouldn't be paired with Yammie's daw, mahirap daw i-drive ang B&W. What is your opinion on this, since your a proud B&W owner...=)

From what everyone is saying, B&W's are very accurate speakers... hindi forgiving. If you put in a bad receiver, bad sound, if you put in a great receiver, great sound.

Suggestion ko is get a Marantz SR4200 or SR5200. Meron nagbenta dito ng brand new SR4200 for P14,000. If you have extra money, you can also get a NAD receiver.

Pero, kung for home theater use... kahit na gamitan mo ng magandang Yamaha, ok na iyon.

Hindi mahirap i-drive ang B&W unless you get the high end Nautilus stuff. Mas mahirap pa yung mga 4ohms na Dynaudio i-drive. Kaso, if you want to hear the full potential of the speakers, get quality equipment.

have any of you auditioned the 600s3 model? unlike the 601 and 602 models, the flow port of the 600s3 model is found at the rear, not the front of the speakers.

i think some british HT review magazines and pinoydvd's rtsy have mentioned their preference for the dm303 over the 601s3 and 602s3 series because of the flowport design. i've seen an actual unit at astroplus but haven't had the time to audition them.

anyway, here are my questions

- are the lows of the 600 model better than the dm303? (in my opinion, the 601 and 602 models have such deep lows that subwoofers costing less than 15K hardly improve)

- will they be a good (or at least, acceptable) match to the the b&w lcr-3 or are they better  matched with the bigger lcr-6?

I just upgraded my speakers from 303 to 602. Im still observing but I think I like the 602. Im not saying 303 is not good but initially I like the 602. I need to break in my speakers before I can really give my opinion. My next step is to change my center.

Trust me, matagal ang break-in ng kevlar woofers. According to the website of B&W, it takes 15 hours for non-kevlar cones (303) and at least a month for kevlar cones.

When I got my second pair of 601s, I connected it after listening to my 2-month old 601s, ang layo ng tunog!!  :-)

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised of the price increase. Our prices here are too low compared to the B&W prices in the US and elsewhere. Also, the dollar is approaching P53 already.

actually the price increases are not just rumours. the distributor just postponed the increase for a while to (let's think of it this way) give everybody a headstart on B&W purchases. So i would still advise you to buy now
and avail of the old prices. BTW, 5-8% nga pala increase.

    In my case baka six months, I seldom use it because always out ako. Almost 20 inabot and I got the LCR 60 this afternoon. Rest na muna ako, next time na receiver.

   I just renovated my room, got a velodyne 1012, B&W602S3 and B&WLCR60S3, imagine the smell of the room. Bili ka na rin, Hyperaudio and Sonny of Hometheater gave me a good deal. If you want pa renovate mo na rin sa akin ang room mo
