The horror franchise will be revive again from Regal Films for the coming Metro Manila Film Festival this December. The original is still the best, the three episodes (BASO, PRIDYEDER, MANANANGGAL) can stand on its own. I don't know for this coming trilogy.

hehehe...yup. its been done to death IMHO.  I wonder what bizzare stories are in store for the viewers this time around...a haunted microwave oven perhaps?    or a haunted toilet seat

That would be a breather for the series. Delos Reyes has no horror flick yet in his filmography. Matti would be a good choice also, he has visual eye like what he did in PA SIYAM....... underrated masterpiece!

One more filmmaker and I hope it will be at par with Borlaza, Bernal & Gallaga did to the original trilogy.

Yeah, my mistake Delos Reyes did KULIMLIM. Also the ZOMBIE episode in MGA KUWENTO NI LOLA BASYANG, a fantasy trilogy blockbuster released in 1985.

yeah, the original was really the best.  especially the scene with JAnice. hehehe.  Kaya ayun, after that nagkaroon ng sequel na....Ang Anak ni Janice....tyanak!!! hehehe.

I've seen the trailer last night. Impressive! It will match the cult status of the first SRR megged by Borlaza, Bernal & Gallaga back in 1984.

X44 always rave on the works of Rico Ilarde, even Noel. Looks promising.

I'm kinda worried about Uro de la Cruz's work though. The other director, a newbie, seems to be competent, according to my friend.

Uro dela cruz should concentrate more on writing scripts rather than making movies. He wrote SCORPIO NIGHTS, one of Gallaga's best films.

crap, crap, crap, this movie was crap.  I only was able to last through the first two episodes and then i walked out.  i remember all of the sudden why I hate Filipino movies so much.  Oh well, back to the indies.
