Hindi naman dumihin, so I don't bother with it.  Besides, I think that screen cost me only a little over P2k to make (more or less the cost of 1 dvd boxset).  It's a temporary set-up, but I think sobrang sulit na talaga.  I'm sure more expensive screens can give better picture quality, but the marginal improvement will probably be not worth the extra expense in the meantime.

For your HT, you may also want to try a DIY set-up first.  You can have the frame made by those carpenters selling furniture from recycled palettes (paleta).  I bought ordinary black cloth (the one used for formal pants) for the  frame, and blackout cloth from Shell Canvass for the screen...and stapled-gun it like crazy at the back of the frame.   :) :)

Someone posted this somewhere in pinoydvd, and I found it useful:

;D ;D  thanks to alexis, elvenears and sanmig!! it's nice to see comments on this thread again.   ;D ;D

Room size is 3.5m x 5.5m. No special acoustical treatments except for maybe the carpet.  Used a tempered glass wall para overlooking yung HT room sa living room. Maybe this picture can give you a better idea...

thanks again for looking!

hi sillyputty.   :) :)  the blackout cloth that I bought from Shell Canvass was only single layer, and made of the rubbery material.  But one side is rough while the other side is smooth.  The rough side is the one facing me/the room.    Pero palagay ko it does not matter which side you use.

Update ko lang. Just got a new Panasonic amp. Not much discussion at pinoydvd about this amp, but looks like full digital amps are beginning to make waves elsewhere. Lots of power!! I wouldn't say it's better than the Yamaha 1400 but there's a lot to like about this xr57.  Sound quality is clear and crisp, hindi muddled kahit malakas.  It easily drives the small Bose speakers.

When I get the time, I'll check how it can drive the B&W's.  I heard that a lot of people have given up higher-end gears in exchange for this amp.  Got it thru Amazon.

The Oppo is also a great dvd player. Better PQ than the Momitsu I'm using for the HT.  I'm using it now for the plasma, but will probably swap it later for use with the Infocus 4805.

Thanks for looking.

 :)

Thanks Ricky.  Mukhang hindi kayang mag-upconvert thru component.  "DVI" button kasi yung ginagamit to cycle thru the resolutions as per the User's Manual. Anyway I still checked and hindi na nga nag-function yung option to cycle thru the different display resolutions once I connected it via component cables.  The signal appearing on the Infocus is 480i.  But once I put back the DVI cables, the Infocus will reflect a 720p, and then pwede na ulit mag cycle thru the different display resolutions.

Another awesome setup in the making, congrats sir. The Panasonic amp looks great.  ;)

Thanks jojitv.  A nice feature of the amp is that zero "hiss" kahit gaano kataas yung volume.
