gaol,

thanks.  watched 2 movies na in my new set-up.  mukhang no problem so far with the m7c1.  excited na ako na bumili ng surround speakers and subwoofer.  para 5.1 na talaga, and i can enjoy all the features of my receiver.

i read the thread re "breaking-in" speakers already.  per everyone's advise, will keep volume down initially.  though i doubt if i can jack it up (kawawa naman neighbors).

luther,

if you're interested in yamaha receivers and mission speakers, i suggest you see Mr. Sonny Tuazon of Home Theater.  got my HT stuff from him.

yes im planning to go to sonny sa first week ng july during may  vacation kasi dito pa ako sa riyadh.

anyway, tumingin ako ng rxv-2200 sa may parksquare nakalimutan ko na but the rxv-1200 nasa 30T plus yun .

anyway, wala ba sa inyo na pwede ako tulungan para ma compare ko itong rxv-2200 sa onkyo or other brand and difference?

for mission may M5 series na ba sa pinas?

allenars, based from my internet research, medyo magkatapat ang denon 2802 with the yamaha 2200.  around 40k ang mga yan right?

can anybody post in here the prices of the mission speakers?  e2 pa lang nakuha ko so far from this thread.

m70 - 7.5k
m72 - 11k
m780 - 21k

ilang watts pala ang kaya nitong i handle?  sa website kasi walang nakalagay dun!  >:(

allenars,

sorry, ngayon ko lang nakita post mo.

anyway, hindi ako familiar sa yamaha rxv-2200 but mission offers several ht speaker packages from budget to high end:

For budget, you can go for m72, m73 or m74 for fronts, m7c1 (or better yet m7c2 if available here already) for center, and m7ds (bi-polar, recommended for ht) for surrounds (you can also get m70 or m71, better for mult-channel music). This should go well with receivers in the P20K-P30, or even slightly higher range.

For mid-level, you can go with the multi-award-winning cinema 7, consisting of 773e for fronts, 77c1 for center and 77ds for surrounds. Ah yes, this is set to be replaced by the m50 series.

For high-end, there's the 78 series: 782 (or 783) for front, 78c for center, and 78ds for surrounds.

You can check their specs at the mission site (www.mission.co.uk). Luther, nandoon din yung recommended watts for each speaker.

can i do a soft reserve for the onkyo tx-sr600, 77c1, 772? (wanna hear it first before fully reserving it) ok na ba ito sa initial setup ng ht? or should i also get a sub with it?  medyo tight ang budget for now coz i want a 54" rptv to go with it.

sir hyperaudio, can u email me offboard at [email protected] on where i can contact you. thanks.

luther,
i don't have demo units of the mission 77c1 and 772 as they're all sealed. rest assured that they're excellent speakers for an initial ht set-up. actually they all got 5-star and best buy ratings from what hi-fi & hi-fi choice and other major publications. they're excellent for music also. i do have the mission m72, m7c1 and m7ds on demo driven by the new onkyo 6.1 channel tx-sr600 (another knockout receiver from onkyo!).

Hyperaudio,

I've heard the mission 773e, but I haven't heard the mission 772s. How are they compared with the 773e? And will they serve as front speakers of an ht setup (with a dynaquest sub) as well as the 773e, together with the 77c1 center?

I've listened to a number of Mission speakers for a while now. I've had JM lab Chorus 705's and PSB Alphas before. I started with the M series, which IMO, has probably one of the best price vs performance factors in any speaker brands available in the market. I've had a couple of the M series speakers before settling to the full-range 705A's, a 75C and 77ds for surrounds.

My brother has old B&W speakers (304's I think) and he's about to buy Missions too. These speakers simply sound so much more open and detailed than a lot others (for their price of course).

I'm sure the M series will have a strong following in time  ;D

dexter, go for the m72 instead... mukhang mas maganda...  :) around 10k ung m72 while the m70 is around 7k.  may centers rin yang ka pair... m7c1, around 9k i think... then for the surrounds m7ds!

yan ang nakita kong setup sa place ni hyperaudio... onkyo sr-600 ang gamit na receiver.  ganda sobra!  (wala ba extra discount hyperaudio? hehehe...)

what can Mission 782 owners say about their babies?  i was at DCM to get this musical fidelity amp, went through all of the mission speakers present (m72, m73, 773) until i hit on the 782's.  wow.

i immediately hit the internet looking for every review on the 782s, was surprised to hear warnings about limp dynamics, no transparency, inefficient...what's going on?

hooked up to the mf amp + rotel cdp & playing santana, dusty springfield, world music, i heard exactly the opposite of what those "reviewers" kept saying.

i bought the mf amp, now i'm wondering what long-term owners have learned 'bout their 782s.

Compare nyo sa B&W DM 303 yung M73.  Ano mas maganda?  Ok din kaya sa rxv-430 tong mga mission
speakers?

I'm planning to buy a new set of spkers ksi.  Dalawa lang yung pinagpipilian ko B&W and Mission.

hyperaudio,
quote mo naman ako ng set ng m70 series.  M73, M70, M7c1.

Let me chime in.  I have no experience with the m73 but I did hear the m72 (same woofer size but bookshelf) and the DM 303.  I found the M72 to be too sibilant (meaning exagerrated "ssssss" in the voices), and the bass was too boomy and out of control.  The DM 303's were detailed and crisp but much less sibilant then the m72s.  The DM 303's were smoother sounding but the bass is not as deep as the Mission but more more clean and controlled.  If music playback is a top priority in your system, I would recommend the DM 303s.  If you plan to integrate a sub in your system, I also recommend the DM 303s.  But if you don't plan to integrate a sub and if you don't care about music playback at all, go for the Missions - the bommy character and deeper bass will give more scale to movie explosions, and it's sibilant character will give some clarity to the sound (although it is an artificial kind of quality).

By the way, I did these comparisons using a Pioneer DV533K and a NAD C340 Integrated Amplifier.  You mileage may vary if you are using different gear.
