Author Topic: ASTROPLUS Podium Pre-Christmas 2005 Sale (Read 89186 times)

ASTROPLUS Podium is holding a special Pre-Christmas DVD sale from Friday, September 30, to Sunday, October 2.

From all indications, this is similar to Astro's SM Makati sale 2 weekends ago but with a larger selection of titles.

Viva will likely reprise their P250/P299 selection but will hopefully include newer titles.

Warner will deduct an additional P50 to P75 from their titles-- sale items included. New box sets, unfortunately, will not be part of this sale.

No word yet from Magnavision.

PODIUM OPENS AT 10 AM on weekends (Friday to Sunday). On weekdays (Monday to Thursday) it opens at 11am with only the Ground Floor cafes and restaurants opening at 10 AM.

Yup the Podium sale is confirmed. Hopefully they do the box sets again like they did before. Based on initial feedback, it's going to be a big one.

i am looking forward to this especially since i missed out on the Astrovision SM Makati sale.

Is the Astro Podium sale this weekend really that big of a deal? If you went to the SM Makati Astro sale last weekend and picked up everything you wanted, I don't think this upcoming sale will offer you anything new. The titles that were out of stock since the last sale (Sopranos season 1, Pearl Harbor, Pirates of the Carribean) will still be missing from this sale as well. The key Disney Titles will also be missing here as well because shoppers who don't know about the upcoming sale will have no problem paying the current P299 sale price for them.

I think we'll just see the same ol' same ol' title. The Alien, Die Hard, Back to the Future, Matrix, Batman, James Bond and all their sequels, the 6th sense, etc. etc.

To some, yes. Like me for example, Podium is walking distance (long walk) from my office, so I look forward to Astro Podium Sale. Astro Podium is also many times bigger than Astro SM Makati so I guess there will be more titles.

It was also there that I first met many of the pinoydvd members for the first time when I was a new member last year. Would be cool to bump into em and greet em again.

Here are my reasons to get excited about the Podium sale:

1. There were some titles na naubusan ako like Forrest Gump. So hopefully makakuha na ako.
2. Naka budget ako during the Astro SM Makati sale. Now that my second Credit Card's Cut off date has passed, pwede na gamitin. Ayoko kasi isang biglang bagsakan sa isang card.
3. During the SM Makati sale, I did not bring with me a list of the titles I want. So hindi ko rin nakuha lahat. Kukunin ko ngayon.
4. The possibility of seeing those "hard to find Disney/Buena Vista titles. At least baka may chance.
5. I might consider those Disney/Buena Vista titles which I ignore even with a 299 price tag, but this time at a 250 price.
6. More importantly for me is getting those Warner & Magnavision titles which take forever to be discounted. So I'm going to podium for those more so than the Disney/Buena Vista dvds.

during the Astro-Makati sale, they marked down the Disney titles that were not part of the current sale, right? Bambi and all those. too bad i missed it! i plan to get those this weekend.

anyone knows if the newer WB titles such as Constantine will also be discounted significantly during the Astro-Podium sale?

and of course being a new pinoydvd member i also look forward to the mini-EB opportunity.

ps - Mods, shouldnt we be renaming this thread to Astrovision Podium sale or something?
