My C542 displayed a "no disc" sign - nakaread lang sya uli when I loaded a cd with playtime of less than 50mins. After that cd, pwde na uli sa long play cds. Ano kayang symptoms ito? 1st time this happened since I got it new 2 yrs ago.

Anyone who has an evaluation of the NAD 545? Please post your comments.
I am still trying to decide if I shoudl get the 315 or 545. Is the extra peso really worth it?

Do you mean the C515BEE or the C545BEE? The C315BEE is an amp.

Both 515 and 545 are excellent products in my opinion, just in different price points. :)

Salamat po.

Only listening to them yourself will determine that for you. But just to give you some info to start with, I still liked the C542 with a C320 compared to the C515 and C315. The latter combo had tendencies to reproduce harsh treble on metallic tweeters.

The C545 is almost similar to the C542, smooth, warm and relaxed, halos wala ako makitang difference and I think advantage pa din ang C542 kase may HDCD decoding ito.  Mas gusto ko tunog ng NAD compared sa CA Azur 540/640 cdp and Marantz CD6003 though I bought the Marantz kase 'yon lang ang kaya ng budget ko for the meantime and previously, I owned a NAD C542.

But if you have some currencies to burn, try to audition the Consonance Linear 120 cdp, ganda ng tunog. IMO, still at the end of the day it's your ears that will decide what to get.

quick question: c515bee or c525bee.

c515 looks more modern and also has quite good reviews online.
c525 has burr brown op amps all around.
difference of the two is P2k. is that worth it?

thanks!

For me, yes. Even the chassis of the 525 looks meatier, although that might just be from its weight and relative size. But all things considered I'd still shell out the extra cash for the 525.

You won't regret going for a dedicated CDP. :) Even great sounding DVDPs generally don't get close enough imho.

True, just make sure you invest on everything downstream from the source also. It's easy to miss the advantages of a dedicated CDP with separate left and right digital and analog stages over an affordable DVDP with a good DAC chip when the components downstream from these sources aren't revealing enough. Do you have amps and speakers for this already?

sir gearhead im using a 525 . I have chosen this over the 515 simply becasue the NAD site would say the 525 is the improved version of 515. the body looks more brawny and very much complimenting my 325bee. as to the sound, im very happy with it. it can never be matched by any dvd player connected by digital connector to an avr. as protege said, you will make the most out of your 525 if everything is dedicated. my  325 is connected to the 525 using sir cal's IC and im using a diamond 9.5 speaker.

based on my experience, a dedicated 2 channel amp sounded better but better can  always be subjective, to some, dedicated cdp to a receiver sounds good already.

i used to have a NAD 525 BEE hooked to an Onkyo 606, it sounds good, got the chance to get a NAD 325BEE it sounded way better, had the chance to get an Onkyo model higher than 606, the CDP sounded a tad better than being hooked sa NAD ko. it sounded best though sa baby g amplifier, a DIY gain card amp made by jojod

all of the above based on my ears though.

Hi guys. Im planning to get the 545bee cdp. Any feedbacks from actual users? Ive read some negatives issues kasi from other sites (ex.front button malfunctions, disc skipping etc.). Although meron din naman good reviews.

Yes it is. The c565bee just happens to be a better choice imo, as it can also work as a standalone DAC if you so desire. Aside from this, you get customizeable filtering, selectable upsampling, and a nice skip dial.

The new c546bee that replaces the c545bee got some trickle down tech from the c565bee.
