know of anyone in Makati? Have 512 Model, tray goes in right away after opening and does not play CDs consistently

Check out the NAD thread here.  I think Spectra is the authorized service center for NAD products.  I think I've encountered a similar problem about the tray coming in right after openning.  I had to physically hold it while placing the disc.  And it still plays.  This happened to a general DVD player.

that's interesting, i checked NAD website and the authorized distributor is AVID!

I had the impression Spectra and its parent company Studio Systems was.  Maybe they've changed it already due to the flak it was getting.  Or maybe Studio Systems and Avid Sales Corp are sister companies.

I was looking for a 521 BEE so i called avid apparently avid is the philippine distributor.  Spectra and sights and sounds are the retail outlets.

This (tray thing) happened to our old pioneer dvd player. we only showed it to an employee of my wife who was proficient with electronics and he only had to adjust a mechanism inside and its working fine. Problem is after 6 months, its having the same problem again. But its a minor thing.

sir...yung pioneer dv535 ko okay read pero ganyan din sakit nung tray. pioneer service center changed an ic or sensor? last 2004. now, umulit. sometimes open tray ok. pero minsan 3-5x open close agad. but as sir matzter said,minor inconvenience/irritant

pero yung nad c520 ko (dati?)...no tray problems whatsoever. id say 99% read cd cdrs origs o p*****d.
