if you are strictly considering CA brand only and ur still not having any transport problems with your current cdp, go for the DAC.

The 640c v2 sounds very good to my ears. Excellent imaging and detail when matched in a good system. I'm actually tempted to get this.  I think they sound more expensive than they are.

hi sir lakambini pareho pa rin pala tayo ng concern cdp...not working lahat ng posted tel# ng image video.

last time i checked a couple of weeks ago ata at 5th ave. shang and trinoma the cd 640c (not sure if ver.2) was at 20,500.

pag nadaan ka HP balitaan mo ako sir ha kung andun pa yung black 5003

The external DAC is 22k ata. I'm sure maganda rin ang tunog nito.

The 740C is oh so lovely. 59k pero sarap sa pandinig for me hehehe. Detailed and refined... supposedly halos pareho lang sila ng 840C, nagkatalo lang sa features.

checked 5th ave. sm annex branch walang 540c and 640c sa trinoma meron nito.

wala na rin sa price list nila yung marantz cdps :'(

Try mo tawagan yung Audible Illusions for Marantz. They have the newer units. Kaya din kumuha ng 5th avenue as per the sales agent, wala na lang sila sa price list dahil siguro iba na yung distributor.

Meron din yata nung 540 and 640 sa Shangrila Branch.

Ok nga yang 540C sir. Buti may stock pa sila diyan sa Marquee (or display unit ba?). It's a very revealing player for the price.

Personally though, parang sulit ang improvements ng 550C over it kung di masyado malayo ang presyo. I think the 550C is at the cost/performance sweet spot, since it actually outperforms the 640C in many aspects (except with outright detail and separation)... at least to my ears.

To me, the 550C and the 650C get dangerously close to the 740C in musical capability. The 740C just gets a win because of its technical superiority and features.

The 550C and the 650C are less forward-sounding (against the 740C), and have a bit more body on each note. However, the 740C can present the stage with convincing depth and layering, and can build very defined images of each instrument.

right sir, i still have the 640c v2. at it's price there is no way you could go wrong with this player. i just acquired the 740c @ 5th ave park square, detail lang tinalo ung 640 v2 plus it is a DAC (740c). ordinary looks lang cambrudge audio but sound and quality is exceptional for the price.

i still plan to get the kandy k2 cd player to partner my k2 amp though.

Maganda naman talaga yan Roksan. Very dynamic sounding.

The 640C V2 is a very detailed player, in fact parang negligible yung outright detail advantage nung 740C for me. On the other hand, organization and layering had improved sa 740C, together with stage depth.

Very convenient nga yung DAC feature nung 740C and 840C. I personally use that function more than the CD tray.
