Using Nextbase 656. Nakakabit lang sa TV since wala naman kaming receiver speakers etc. Pero kanina lang, nagbago yung tunog. Parang nagbrebreak and huminayung sound. Kailangang ilagay sa 90-100 ngayon. Dati sa 30-50 na volume ok na. Hindi naman sa TV since ok naman sa mga cable channels. Sinubukan ko rin sa ibang DVD na alam kong maayos ang tunog and well, ganun rin sila. Wala naman akong napindot AFAIK. Ano kayang probema dun?

Mukhang sa DVD player and not sa TV yung problem. Pinalitan co na yung composite cable and wala pa ring improvement. Yung audio, sinubukan ko ikabit sa speakers namin and ganun rin. Kailangang naka max yung volume para reasonable yung sound and medyo basag pa rin.

any reviews for nb-831? it is being sold for 2700 lang kasi in Automatic Center

i like it because of the USB slot. do you think next base products work well with external hard drives?

im actually new here...just want to ask about the nb-656...i sort of lost the manual kasi and ever since i bought the player in 2006, i haven't used its videoke feature. i dont know why the mic wont work..the tv is working naman, its playing the videoke song..ayaw lang gumana ng mic, i just bought the mic din..what do i do to make it work? do i need to setup something or press something on the remote???
help po...

@ mavi_28 - got a nb656 as well and the owner's manual doesn't say anything about setting up the microphone feature, basically it's just plug and play (kung di gumagana yung sayo eh most probbably sira yung mic function ng player mo). The disadvantage of using your nb for mic or videoke purposes is yung volume control nya is at the back of the player and medyo may split second delay yung output ng boses mo and kailangan mo pa ilapit yung mic sa mouth when singing para ma pick up nya yung boses mo. Iv'e tried it with my nb656 with a good quality mic and ganun din nangyari. My suggestion is to buy a cheap karaoke amplifier na merong mic output. I'm using a konzert ampli for my videoke setup. Also, add ko lang na my nb656 has been with me for over 3 years now and hanggang ngayon ok na ok pa rin sya.

Any user here of Nextbase NB-891? Does it really upscale to 720p and 1080i via component video? I saw it being demoed by a sales clerk in abenson grand central last saturday to one of their customer, naka-enable kasi yung selection ng 720p and 1080i sa menu using only a component cable goind to a 22" lcd tv, although ala ako masyado nakitang difference when he switched resolutions kasi maliit lang yung tv and di talaga makikita ang difference dun...

Anyone here na nakasubok na ng 891 sa malalaking lcd tvs? Thanks

i have tried yung lower model nextbase nb-861 ata yun, yung walang HDMI, nakakapag upscale sya ng 1080i on my sony bravia klv-32v300a via component. but now i am using pioneer dv-600 and the resolution beats the nextbase at 1080p!

been wanting to buy a nextbase with divx playback capabilities but have some questions that i hope some can help me with here.

can the nextbase play xvid also?
should the movie be encoded on a newer version of divx codec can nextbase still play it?
if not is there a firmware upgrade?

yes, nextbase with divx mark can play xvid encoded videos. i have no idea if future version of divx can be played, but most likely it should still be possible.

I have a nextbase 831 I think and it's good and all but I have been having problems regarding it's subtitle reading feature. I play avi files on my USB with .srt subs and for some strange reason it always shows the subs which are not formatted and look plainly bad. Any idea on how I may solve this problem?

sir, question naman... what do you use to save your avi files? flash drive ba or portable HDD?

I you want a better looking subtitle... try to look for raw subtitles.... the ones with the *.sub extension... they look way better than srt subs... try it....

hi. i have the NB-891 with HDMI connected to a Sony Bravia via HDMi. does it automatically upscale the videos that i watch from my usb and dvd? or do i have to change some setting first?

also, i cant seem to access the video setup and HDMI settings on my nextbase, merong "gray" area yung selections (for HDMI setup kunyari), hindi ko mapuntahan using the remote. maeron bang way to access this? any help would be greatly appreciated. thank you

any will do... you can use portable HDD as long as it is FAT32 partition... nasubukan ko na yung 30GB, more than that di ko pa alam kung gagana....

Yes po... I'm using NB-831... I was able to watch My wife is a Gangster 3 (AVI file)... with *.sub, it can display 4 different subtitles because the movie is chinese and at the same time korean language... so it includes 4 subs. one with korean & english, two chinese & english, three chinese, and the fourth korean... It can also play embeded subtitles on divX files.... If you download Gorgeous (DivX file) by Jackie Chan and Shu Qi, it has embeded subtitles... NB-831 will play this also....

How are Nextbase dvd players? I saw one in Ambassador Virra mall that upscales to 1080p, black with hdmi cable na. But its around 4,400 pesos ata. Do they read all disc with no prob?
