This is my summary of statement:

Item(s) Subtotal:                   £24.99
Postage & Packing:                £22.58
  `                                          -----
Total before VAT:                  £47.57
VAT:                                     £0.00

Total:                                  £47.57
          Import Fees Deposit £5.71  -----

Question: will I stay for the tax if I already have paid for the import fees?

Answer: I was not taxed by UPS.

Is Amazon slowly moving away from DVD/Blurays?  They seem to lo longer stock many of the older titles themselves, instead sell them from third parties, although still fulfilled by Amazon (they still carry stocks, but not own them)....

I noticed that too.  If you order from different vendors at the same time, will they still come in one package or in several packages?

based on my experience, orders won't arrive at the same time when ordering from different vendors. arrival dates differ because not only they ship your orders on different dates, they also use different shippers.

Best way is to use Johnny Air or a similar company so that there will be no problems with shipping. Did you put Philippines as your location? Some companies will only ship within the US.

i'm planning to order from amazon japan for the first time although i've tried it's us and uk counterparts a number of times without any hassles.  i'm curious though, is it any different from the latter two?  is there any charge limit i should look out for to avoid custom taxes just like the fifty dollars limit for us orders?  thanks in advance for any input.  :D

There are lots of items that are for domestic use only so if you'll ship it to an international address you won't be able to purchase the item.

Kapag magpapaship ba ako gamit ang JAC mas maganda ba sa JAC-NJ? Nagbili kasi ako 2 books sa amazon using JAC-NY cost 16USD for both and weighs 1.2 lbs and 11.4 ounce. Nagulat lang ako kasi 1,236 pesos yun charge sa akin. First time to used JAC and first time buyer din ako sa Amazon. Lage kasi ako sa ebay bumibili and kinukuha ko na lang sa post office yun mga item ko. Kaya hindi ako sure kung magugulat ako sa charge sa akin or ok lang ba yun?

I bought 3 Steelbook BD's from amazon canada last week thru dhl and was slapped with a whopping Php 2200.00 tax. Is there a cheaper route in case I wanna order again? Also plan to order from Amazon.de and amazon.fr. Does the lower than $50.00 free from tax still apply? Thanks.

Unfortunately with DHL delivering there is no way to avoid customs charges and their "fees" Do what I do, take the parcel then tell the courier to f@ck off. DHL Philippines are the biggest bunch of thieves I have ever known. I think "Erap" Estrada must be their CEO.

You should be OK with the European Amazons though.

If you order from Amazon.jp you will CERTAINLY be hit with a customs fee from DHL. No way around it either.

Just bought a blu-ray player and two HDMI cables and decided to have it shipped directly to my address rather than my friend in the US. Since there's an IMPORT FEES DEPOSIT (and according to their guidelines, this should take care of any and all fees for my package to arrive at my doorstep), there shouldn't be any more hassles when it comes to Customs. If I suddenly end up with fees, I will definitely challenge it.

How much is the shipping fee and import fee deposit?

The shipping fee for my package was $91 (it changes depending on the number and weight of items) and the import fee was roughly $30. Amazon then gave me a $20 credit towards future purchases because of the item I ordered. Delivery estimate is December 28.

I've ordered a few items (BDs) from Amazon UK and US, and currently awaiting their arrivals.  I was just charged shipping and handling / postage and handling, no sales tax or VAT.  Does this confirm that I am not to be collected anything by the local courier when I get the items?

Really won't know for sure until it arrives here. By their own definition, those fees are collected from you so that you authorize Amazon to handle all duties and taxes on your behalf. If the actual fees are less than the amount deposited, Amazon will credit the amount back to you.

Of course, this being Philippine Customs, we have to expect that things won't go as planned.
