sa customs airport naman, may nagshout out na "if anyone has anything to declare.."  shrug your shoulders lang and say you have nothing to declare then pass right up their area..

many times I go back from my short trips abroad may inu-uwe ako, either inside my checked-in baggage, carry on backpack or a separate box extra to my luggage -- allowed naman 2 baggages checked-in eh

as long as the item/s are opened box and for personal use, dapat no customs tax yan =))  if you bring home multiple items like 3 cameras or mag-doubt sila na pangbenta at pagkaka-kitaan, sisingiln nila kayo ng tax. just be ready to show your item/s receipt.  dun naman sila mag-base ng tax niyan

di pa naman ako nag-uwe ng malaking box talaga like LED TV hehehe

Question mga sirs
May relative ako from states pauwi dito sa pinas
Kapag umorder ako sa amazon tapos delivered sa address nila at ipapasabay ko yung box sa paguwi malaki ba charges or tax?

By size ba ng box?
By weight ba ng box?

Was this delivered right at your doorstep sir? Or did you have to go to the post office to claim?

check with Amazon... make a mock transaction and indicate there the US delivery address.  usually, if to be delivered to US address, baka meron yan State tax -- depende saang State, iba iba VAT rate or sales tax per State eh.  pero free delivery yan sa door nila kahit saan sa mainland US

Shipping cost is around 1.2k pesos. No additional tax because item is below 10k pesos.

Yes pero mahal kasi may tax na yan and shipping is pricey kasi malaki na yung item.

What shipping option did you choose in Amazon so it's delivered to your doorstep? I want to order Blu-ray discs :)

Did you choose:
*Standard International Shipping - averages 18-32 business days
*AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping - Averages 5-10 business days
*AmazonGlobal Priority Shipping - Asap

Two option with international shipping expedite and priority on my experience but this two shipping is depend what shipper the seller will use. Mostly of my item from amazon the seller or amazon use ups so even i choose expedite it only take 7 days. Comparing the two priority and expedite someone here or in fb use the priority but they receive the item in 7 days same as expedite. So i think the expedite and priority shipping is same in terms of eta using UPS. You can also check if the item if eligible to ph direct shipping if you make your shipping address default to ph amazon automatically check if its eligible.

I chose the cheaper option, AmazonGlobal Expedited Shipping hehe. But in my case, 4 days lang na deliver na so parang priority na din

I have refrained from purchasing BDs from Amazon US a long time ago since the shipping cost is too steep for me. Standard international shipping is $8.98 for a single title; additional ones will be $3.99/title. A better option is Amazon UK.

^ looks steep for a single BD title... but ensure to consolidate >3 DB discs per order placement.  then it'd become like PhP300 approx per title shipping cost.  not so bad I think -- while 1 blockbuster title would get you around PhP1,200 (if it cost USD23/title).

so Amazon UK is much cheaper, still...?

=))

I'm speaking from my own experience. Many BD titles are offered much cheaper than those sold in the US; besides I always time my UK purchases whenever there is a ongoing sale. The VAT is also excluded during checkout so yes, buying BDs from Amazon UK is much cheaper.

To illustrate the difference between Amazon UK vs Amazon US shipping rates for BDs, here's a sample computation:

                                                 UK                                                        US

per delivery                             £2.09                                                    $4.99
per item/title                           £1.49                                                    $3.99

3 BDs

£2.09 + (£1.39 x 3)                  £6.56                    $4.99 + ($3.99 x 3)  $16.96

Php conversion (3/5/19)         P450.47                                                P676.83

per BD                                     P150.15                                               P225.60

Btw, there's an Amazon UK BD/UHD BD sale right now:

Five Blu-ray for £30
Two Blu-ray for £25
Two 4K Blu-ray for £30

YMMV. In my case since I'm a regular Phlpost customer, the mail carrier delivers my package. Others receive a notice to get theirs from the local Phlpost office.

This is a deal breaker then. It's such a hassle to go to our post office. So out of the way plus with the traffic. I'd take my chances with the US account instead.

^ Unless you will avail of Amazon's premium shipping option for your BDs (either Expedited or Priority), packages/parcel shipped via standard international shipping will still pass through the local post office.
