for $50 and up, they charge 10% of the total amount declared.

That seems like a very conservative estimate, based on previous customs duties they've computed for me in the past.

i myself also doubt the figure. my next order is more than $50, i hope the 10% applies  when it arrive here.

Shipping via JAC would mean more cost for you especially with packages from Amazon store. Please take note that Amazon usually ships your order in big boxes or in multiple shipments (for US destination). You will be charged volume weight instead of the usual rate given to PinoyDVD Members.

My suggestion is for you to ship your DVDs/BDs to someone who works or lives in Makati or Ortigas Areas for savings.

What is the usual rate given to PinoyDVD Members? Is there a difference in shipping cost when the person ordering lives in Davao or Cebu?

I think most orders to the Ortigas/Makati area is now delivered directly by Royal Logistics.  So you don't deal with PO anymore...

I suspect books, audio CDs, and DVDs.  But as you know, they are based on user experiences and no guarantee that would always be the case.  But at the moment, that's how it is...

Sir,

You may search the Johnny Air Cargo thread in this forum and inquire. Discounted yung sa JAC when you are a Pinoydvd member.

I intend to order Boxsets of the X-files series.  I guess it would be expensive if I use JAC?

I plan to order X-files slim sets also.  Did you use JAC or you had it shipped straight to you?  Sa calculation ko kasi it would be less expensive if I have it delivered straight to me than use JAC.

I had two package shipped Dec.13 and 15 which haven't arrived.  I am a bit anxious because my subsequent order from Dec 20 and 26 had arrived last week.

Good news.  They were delivered today.  I had all but given them up for lost, and just waiting for the estimated delivery date to lapse before filing a lost package report.  Postmarked December 28.  So the local PO tooks three weeks to deliver them.  Amazon is amazing.  Royal Logistics is efficient.  Philpost, is well... at least they did deliver them, so I guess we can say they are honest... ;)

my latest order shipped in the province arrived again exactly 2 weeks after. never failed my 2-week estimate  ;)

btw, i know orders via international shipping don't have tracking numbers. but what's with the tracking numbers (starts with GM followed by 17 digits) given on their delivery confirmation emails? can i use that anywhere like before it reaches the destination country, or is it for amazon internal use only?

Just ordered...

The Cutting Edge - Gold Medal Edition
Pretty in Pink (Everything's Duckie Edition)
Some Kind of Wonderful (Special Collector's Edition)

For those who want to reminisce the 80's, they're on sale at the lowest price I've ever seen since their release at $7.97 per dvd(without shipping).

The total cost me including shipping $35.37.  Bargain na indeed.  It comes out a little over Php500 per R1 dvd.  Nice!!!

If you guys don't have them yet, this is the right time to order.

 ;D

Ang galing talaga ng Amazon ;D

I ordered the Harry Potter HD-DVD from Amazon UK for GBP19.91. A week after my order was shipped, the price of the HPGOF hd-dvd went down to GBP17.99. I emailed Amazon UK about the change in price & now they are giving a refund of GBP1.92 on my credit card.

Here's a part of that email:

"Dear Customer

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

The discounts we offer for items on our website do vary from time to
time. I've checked your order #026-8309031-7910801 and found that we
now offer a greater discount on " Harry Potter And The Goblet Of
Fire [HD DVD] [2005]" than at the time you placed your order.

We are only able to adjust the price of an order in instances where
less than thirty days have passed between the date on which an order
was dispatched and the time that an item is reduced in price on our
site.

I have therefore requested a refund of 1.92 GBP
to your payment card. This amount reflects the difference between the
price you were charged and the current discounted price. The refund
should appear as a credit on your next bank statement."

I already got a confirmation email that my request was approved. Less than 24 hours after I emailed them.
Thanks Amazon UK 8)
