Am supposed to be happy today. Got my HD-DVDs (from Amazon's Buy 2 Take 1), but it was tainted with something I really regret. Shame on me!

Have stopped buying from Amazon for quite some time (last purchase was Oct06) and as far as I remember, all my orders then were through Royal Logistics, delivered straight to the office and no tax. Today, however (yup, haven't reading this thread too), I received a notice from Makati CPO so I immediately went there to pick up my stuff.  But, as somehow expected, I have to pay a considerable amount, Php 1,200++, as tax/duty for the DVDs. Cost of DVDs is about Php 2,700++. Haven't had enough strength, I immediately fell into their trap to just pay them a certain amount, without OR, in short grease money. As I was walking back to the office, I really felt bad, especially when I remember the custom guy boasting about his collections (unofficial) for the day, thanks to "us"  :(

Well, as suggested by another, maybe I should consider other option, like JAC.

Well (again), enough of that.

Here's my package, my HD-DVDs came inside an envelope with interior bubble wrap. Is this how they package the DVDs now?

My last purchase (Oct2006) came in a very secured box.

Cheers!!!

that's not how my packages are usually wrapped. mine are always shipped in a cardboard box. i have been ordering from amazon on a monthly basis since last year and ever since IMEX started handling Philippine shipments my orders have been arriving 1-2 weeks later than usual. :P

I also experienced about 2 times from Amazon using those cheap bubble envelope but luckily items arrived in good condition. Usually items are sent out in a cardboard box as mentioned by ET414.

Regret to hear the unpleasant experience encountered at the PO Compaq. That's why I always call them goons or "big crocodiles"  >:(

So that's what happened!

I was wondering why my 4-for-3 purchases were suddenly over $50, when they were perfectly under that limit in the past.

I have a HD discount of ten percent.  In the past, the shipping charges was just a tad over the discounts that I get, but in my last order, the shipping charges was double the discounts, bummer :-[

just tried ordering today and noticed that their shipping rates are now higher  ???  one of my pending orders was High School Musical 2 + Pride and Prejudice Giftset, and its shipping charge was only $8.97 then. tried it again today to confirm the difference, and shipping these 2 items now cost $12.97

is it just me? or were there any announcements?

Just signed up with JAC last Thursday (and JAC already sent e-mail confirmation to me the next day).

I want to make sure all my big ticket purchases for the last quarter not to get lost, super delayed and super slapped with customs duties just in case the IMEX mode shipping hits me.  ;)

the ps3 is quite heavy, though the box is not that bulky, they will compute via actual weight or volume weight, whichever is higher.  Based on my estimate, you might pay around 5k-6k to ship that thru JAC.  :)

Yeah, I'm aware it's quite heavy. Amazon listed it with weight of 15 lbs. although probably it's the weight of the unit itself minus the box and accessories...

OT. My primary reason of availing PS3 sold in US is the fact that all of my DVDs are region 1. I'm afraid if I'm going to buy locally, it might not be able to play my old DVD collection. Or am I wrong?

Anyway, 5k-6k JAC charges is fine with me. Kayang-kaya to ng 13th month pay ko which is due in November...  ;D

I pre-ordered few weeks back 3 items with amount totalling to more than $50, namely Troy Ultimate Collector's Box, Troy Director's Cut Blu-Ray and Smallville Season 6 Blu-ray and the release date of all of these were yesterday. Fingers crossed, I'm glad it was shipped by Amazon just few minutes back with the GM code! What a relief since it's like dodging a bullet from the Pasig PO's customs collection...  :D

Just called Royale a while ago regarding this shipment dated back Sept. 19. Royale just received this shipment last night and they'll be delivering it next week (because it's Friday today already). I'm just wondering why it took more than 2 weeks before reaching Royale...

Anyway, my recent pre-order (FF4: Rise of the Silver Surfer Blu-Ray) that was shipped last October 2 is AGAIN shipped with that AM tracking code!!!  >:(

TIME TO SHIFT TO JAC!!! I don't want to pay too much once Spider-man Trilogy Blu-ray will be shipped with that AM again!

In my experience, basta isang item lang sigurado amazon will ship it thru USPS with that AM tracking code. It happened to me when I ordered 2 blu-rays & they had to split it into 2 shipments both with AM tracking code. Up to now hindi pa dumarating. I already got the replacement, this time 2 blu-rays in one shipment with GM tracking thru Royale Logistics. So I always order a minimum of 2 items.

Whew!!!!

Amazon prime (free trial only folks) is fast........right after I placed my order, (to be shipped to JAC NY), wala pa ten minutes, the items were already in "items shipping soon" status.

Even their customer service reply is fast.    I written them email to make sure that my shipment will come in one package, so as to avoid unnecessary charges from JAC, after 5 minutes, this is their reply :

Thanks for writing to us at Amazon.com.

Please accept my sincere apology for any inconvenience that may have
caused you due to this misunderstanding and please allow me to
explain.

I have checked your order and found that it has entwered in shipping
process. Please note that we are unable to confirm that your order
will come in one package. However there is no need to concern, since
you have choosen " Group items into as few shipments as possible" as
ship option if we will split your order also you will not be charged
for any extra shipping fee.

I have included some information below:

When you choose the option to "Group my items into as few shipments
as possible," we make every effort to comply with your request.
However, we have several fulfillment centers around the country, and
not all of the items we offer are stocked at all of our fulfillment
centers.

To fill your order as quickly and efficiently as possible, we will
decide to split your order into multiple shipments so that we could
take advantage of the items in stock at different fulfillment
centers.

For each shipment in your order, we charge a portion of the total
per-shipment fee plus the per-item fee for each item in that
shipment.

Your total shipping charges reflected the amount you would have paid
if your items had all been shipped together.

However in this case I assure you that you will not be charge for
any shipping fee.

I hope this explanation clears up any misunderstanding

Im praying my shipment will come in 1 package.   ;D ;D
