I think there is indeed a $25 charge for an e-book reader. I guess it falls under the category of Ipads which also gets a $25 charge. I just based it on the email I got from Trixie.

Here's the email I got from JAC regarding their rates and procedures:

I. U.S. TO PHILIPPINES RATES

A. INBOUND SHIPMENTS - AIRFREIGHT (Cargo Service)

NY to MANILA - $ (USD) 5.50 / lb NON-ELECTRONICS (minimum chargeable weight of 2 lbs., $1,000.00 value & above is subject to 5% additional clearing cost based on invoice declaration, negotiable)
- $ (USD) 6.50 / lb ELECTRONIC, Auto parts, taxable items

Plus : Handling Fee : $ 2.50 shipment (pick-up) / $ 10.00 (for delivery)
Plus : $ 50.00/unit (additional clearing cost for a laptop & two way radio) / $ 25.00 - Mobile Phones & Ipads
Plus : Inland freight (if any)
Plus : 12% Vat (Philippine Peso)

hi guys, noob here. tanong ko lang kung magkano usually ang aabutin kung three tshirts lang ang oorderin? nagrrepack ba ang johnny air? kasi kung oorder ako online rerequest ko sana sa seller na liitan yung box as much as possible. thanks in advance sa magrereply.

usually sellers place shirts in a plastic bag. mura lang yan. mapapamahal lang yan if they shipped it in a box.

nakuha ko na yung item ko using Johnny air, bali 1.7k (4 pounds + vat) binayaran ko kasi box yung sinukat, pero ok lang nung nakita ko yung box na ginamit ng Amazon, sakto lang din dun 2 items na inorder ko... salamat po sa thread na to

. Almost 1 week lang pala yung item ko at mabilis ang reply nila sa email lalo na si Mam Analyn pati dun Makati branch, nauna pa sila magsabi na pumunta na ako sa Megamall kesa dun sa Megamall branch pero same day din naman (mas napaaga kasi kasi nung nagtext ay nasa byahe na ako )...

2 pounds minimum nila, so mga 800+ pesos yan kapag umorder ka din ng mas mababa sa 2 pounds kaya sulitin mo na yung pounds XDDD

Eto nakalagay sa resibo ko:

Volume weight: 15.5 X 12.5 X3.5 divide 166= 4 pounds
Actual weight: 3 pounds

Vat ay 12%= 4 dollars in my case...

uu sa New York ko pinadala, huli na ng nabasa ko about sa tax, imbes na 122$ lang nagastos ko eh nadagdagan ng 10$ gawa nung tax, pero ok lang kasi pagkadating na pagkadating sa NY eh naisabay agad dun sa pagkarga sa eroplano (friday yun ng 8am dumating sa NY)....

yung 10$ na tax na yan bro sa seller or pag nagpadala ka sa NY branch? ang sabi kasi sakin pag sa NJ walang tax pero mas matagal ang dating ng package.

tax sa pag nagpadala sa NY branch, uu walang tax dyan sa NJ yung nga lang, pagbagsak sa NJ idedeliver pa din nung taga JAC sa NY (walang bayad) 1-2 days lang ata yun eh sa pagkakaalam ko....

Does anyone know who/what dept/group/person should I contact from JohnnyAir when I try to follow up my package? Everytime I call them up, kung san san kasi ako pinapasa, I think there's a seperate group who handles the packages of pinoyDVD members.

Have you guys noticed that shipping service of Johnny Air has become spotty lately?

NY-Manila shipments have now taken roughly 12 days with "uploaded in CHina" as the delay reason.

This has happened twice to me now.

Previous experience normally took one week from Amazon confirmation of shipment.

I hope Johnny Air Management is looking at this instances.

i recently ordered from amazon and it got delivered to their NY office last May 10. however, i haven't been texted yet when i can claim my order. maybe i'll also get the "uploaded in China" delay reason.

i know i should follow it up and call them but it's ok since i don't have time on my sked to visit JAC.

Yes very noticeable delay. Mine arrived in NY May 11 but I've only got it yesterday, May 25. That's roughly 14 days or 2 weeks.

my package from amazon has been having a tough time getting delivered. when i tried tracking the status of my package, it says that it has been delayed because no one was able to sign for it. anybody have experienced this?

btw, Amazon used A-1 Courier services. i wish they used USPS instead so no hassles.

UPDATE: i just checked my order earlier and it's now been received at their office. all that's left now is to wait for it to arrive here in manila.

nakita ko nga iyan. marami din ako nakita iba from 800-1k.. kaya lang ayaw nila pakita yung item in person bago bilhin. haha

They probably waited for more packages before shipping them out.

Hi. Verify ko lang sa mga users ng JAC service kung yung handling fee is still $2.50 or back to $5 na ulit. Kasi sabi ng JAC-Makati staff na promo lang daw ito and the promo period has already ended, contrary to what I've been reading here.
