Johnny Air
« on: Mar 31, 2002 at 07:16 AM »
I noted from another post that Johnny Air's rates are half those of myUSmailbox.

Can Johnny Air be used for online purchases similar to what is being done with myUSmailbox?

Since any online purchase will be addressed to their US office, what arrangements have to be made for it to be forwarded to the buyer in Manila?  Will they also set up a virtual US mailbox for you?

I have been using Johnny Air for shipping things from the US.  I have tried them not only for DVDs but for other goodies from the US.

As long as the vendor in the US will allow you to ship to an address different from your credit card billing address, then you can have them ship the DVDs to the nearest Johnny Air office (they have offices on both coasts).

When I have a shipment, I just inform their Manila office to expect a shipment from so-and-so vendor and they take care of the rest.  Normally I get my DVDs and stuff 2-4 days from the time it arrives at the Johnny Air office in the US.

My contact at Johnny Air is Aura Black - just email her at [email protected], or call her at 812-47-02 / 813-72-27 - tell her that Tanya referred you and she can arrange a discount for you.

hi Tanya,

when your shipment arrives here in Manila, do you pick it up in their office or they will deliver it to your door?

thank you very much for the info and welcome to PinoyDVD   :D

Do they have customs charges? One thing good about MyUsmailbox is  they don't charge taxes if the value was below 500 dollars.

Thank you Tanya for endorsing our company. :)

Yes, the flat rate that we offer ($ (USD) per lb) is inclusive of everything -
(freight charges, duties and taxes, handling fees and delivery to your given address here in MM or anywhere in the Phils.).

dni, you have the option to pick-up your goods or we deliver it.  Either way is possible whichever is convenient for you.

green_archer,  you need not worry on the value declaration.  We will help you out.

silhoutte, we do not charge annual membership fees.  As mentioned earlier,  we offer a flat rate per lb. plus a minimal handling fee since your shipment will be COD Manila.

Guys, if you don't mind, may I suggest that you send me an e-mail directly to this address: [email protected]

This way, you may know more about our company.  Johnny Air Cargo is celebrating its 19th year this coming June.  We can already extend special rates to you guys and the rest of your members.

Once again, thank you and more power to this site.

YAB

BTW, my mom just celebrated her 75th birthday and she loves watching movies.  At her age, she still travels a lot and is always fond of discussing the latest events. What is a good movie to give her as a present?

dni,

Delivery within MM is covered by their standard rates.  But sometimes when I'm in a hurry I just pick the goods up at their Makati office.

Thanks for the warm welcome   :D

silhouette,

they don't charge any membership fees - just the shipping and handling fees for each shipment.

Sometimes my shipments are COD Manila - in which case I have the vendor ship the goods to Johnny Air New York via UPS Ground collect and I am just billed in Manila - other times I settle the charges in US - it costs the same either way.

I'm aware that Johnny Air Cargo charges a flat rate per pound...
But, does anyone know more or less how much a single disk (Amray) weighs (in pounds)?  How about a 2-disk DVD?

Thanks

Can anyone tell me how to use Johnny Cargo? Do they have a website like MyUsMailbox? Any help would be greatly appreciated. You can email me the details at [email protected].

Hi Yab,

How can a friend of mine get to your office rep in Los Angeles area?

Also, if assuming I need to ship to Manila an Xbox package with some game titles, can you please advise an approximation of how much I need to spend using your company's services?

The total purchase cost is just about US$ 199++

Thanks,
-jackryan 8)

been using them for quite a while already, no taxes and price is much cheaper than myusamailbox on a per pound basis (if you avail of their offer to pinoydvd members) and without the membership fee that myusamailbox charges. i normally pick up my orders at megamall rather than have it sent through courier as i am afraid baka ma misplaced pa ng maid ko.

Hi Daigoro,

So how does it work? Do they provide you with your own personalize US address? Would appreciate your prompt reply.

no unique mailing address but they give you a common US address in the new york or los angeles, when they receive the package, they identify who it is for and
then they forward it here. i normally receive a call when my package has arrived here and pick it up at megamall. they also have offices in makati or you can wait a few days for them to deliver it to your house. Its COD and no membership fee.
you have to register here at the local office to avail of the promo prices. maybe you can wait for the details of the new promo that pinoydvd and johnny air are cooking up. it might be better than the current one.
