Topic: LG karaoke player vs karavision, hyundai.....

I am shopping for a karaoke dvd player so I was looking around on this forum and found an old topic with a question about LG players, about the vocal function.
The LG player and the karavision/hyundai/platinum players are verry different. The karavision/... group of player use MIDI to generate the music. MIDI is a set of computer instructions to make the player produce sound. The advantage is that the MIDI files are verry small so even on a VCD you can have thousands of songs.
The LG uses compressed sound on a super CDG format developed by CAVS, so you hear real musicians play the music. The MIDI music sounds like music out of a can. The LG sounds like real music.
The disadvantage of the LG player is that the DVD is not upgrated, there are aditional DVD's with the new songs and they are verry expensive.(1.800 p for 600 songs). The LG comes with a disk with aprox 2000 songs a hardcover songbook and 1 mike for 8k (DKS 6000).
In another post I asked what is the best choice between karavision or platinum karaoke players. Maybe here someone can advice me?

I have a Karavision which I bought last year (around 7.6k ata).  Looks-wise, the Hyundai comes out on top, and mas mukhang heavy duty.  One bad thing about the Karavision is that wala syang component out (composite lang & S-Video), but since I have an HTIB, ok lang.

Go for LG or Hyundai.  The Karavision looks cheap kasi, and I just bought it for the Karaoke experience, hehehe

You can now buy Karavision at Raon for as low as P4,600 (kung matyaga kang maghanap).  But I settled for the Promac Cantana which is around P5.5T because of the better picture and sound quality as well as better interface (i.e. search and scoring feature).

The player is for karaoke use only, I have a seperate player for DVD. The LG is out because my wife wants the 7000+ songs and the LG has only 2000.
Here the karavision and platinunum are the only ones avalable, I live in Dinalapihan and I do not know my way around in Manila (I am from Europe).

The Promac Cantana is available in most appliance stores and even SM although a bit more expensive.

IF YOU CAN AFFORD THEN BUY A HDD TYPEno dvd. HDD is far more reliable.
