So ang theory ngayon, it must be caused by some internal glass coating.

This is a landmark Panny Plasma which opened so many eyes in SD and HD viewing without breaking the bank! My unit and both my sister's units are playing immaculately!

how do you repair a scratch on the screen?

depende sa lalim bro.. afaik, di replaceable yung glass.  pwede ba lihahin?

I think the scratch is not repairable.  Mine got a minimal scratch because the screen was hit accidentaly by a falling figurine.  The scratch is not visible unless you go very near the screen to find it.  I tried carefully to wipe it out using different cleaners but it was not removed.  Out of curiousity, I called Pana Phils and asked for solution, I was told that the scratch cannot be removed by home remedy alone.  They told me that the front glass panel can be replaced for P18,000 and I dont need to send my PV70 to them, they can do the replacement right in our house!  For now, i just ignore the scratch; anyway it is not visible in my viewing area.  ;D ;D

balak ko lagyan ng subwoofer sa likod ng unit.

okay lang ba kung hindi shielded at konting vibration?

The being non magneticaly shielded should not be an issue.  But what do you mean by konting vibration?  that the pv70 will vibrate a little?  How is it set up? on the wall? with a stand.  Would be best to protect your investment and secure it hung on the wall or on a stand most sturdily and away from as much vibration as possible ;)

Mine just "died" two weeks ago. I was watching tv and the unit suddenly turned off. I tried to turn it on again using the remote but after a few clicking sound it just wont power on anymore. The unit was pulled out by S & S last August 21 and I'm still awaiting their feedback although according to Vic it would probably need a power inverter or something replacement with an estimated cost of P8,000.00.

This brings me to the question: Are the current 'breed' of tvs not built to last? Are the days when crt tvs would last 10, 15 or even 20 years already obsolete? In these age of endless upgrade are tv manufacturers simply not interested in making their product last longer since by adding a few thousand bucks more to the cost of repair you would already be able to buy a brand new one?

After 12 long years of service my PV70 began to show symptoms of power supply failure. Sometime it turns on and sometimes it just refuses to do so.  Finally we are under GCQ and its now being repaired. hopefully the repair bill will be reasonable
